I just wanted to start a thread dedicated to the Texans and how happy I am we have the people running the show that we do.I thought before the season started that we had a pretty fair chance of going 9 -7 and making the playoffs. And it started off that way until AJ got hurt.Shaub has been out and unsuprisingly Green has had problems with his knees. An offensive line injury and the icing on the cake,Robinsons injury which might welll move him to safety asssuming he comes back.Fortunately his classmate Bennett looks like the real deal on the other side though.Nevertheless.this team has shown they will be in the hunt each year for quite awhile. The drafting of Mario was the safe play.Besides the 12 -13 sacks he'll most likely see this year
,the guy is either double teamed or all over the field making tackles.....Williams is and will pay dividends.
Demeco is just amazing. It's like getting a top 10 pick. This is a defense that will be among the best in the League soon.We need a quality safety and perhaps another corner. The line needs work and eventually a big time RB.But we are headed in the right direction...and quickly.I really see us winnning a lot of games next year.(if we can stay healthy)Think about what we had to deal with schedulewise this year.I definitely like the over on the number of wins they'll most likely set it at next year. Also,Kubiak is the ideal man for the job....We have the right fella.

I know this might soiund odd after this loss, but good times and a large window are coming...So..Be Happy!...A long run in th playoffs starts next year.

OMT...The loss of Spencer was titanic, but this team is overcoming everything....gotta feel proud to be a Texans fan....I don't know if they will ever approach my feelings for the Oilers, but they are winning me over in the way they run their organization now..

First of all, atleast use decent punctuation.

If we didnt lead the league in injury problems, we could have been ver sick this year. Its not just random players, its the best ones we have.

    Ahman Green - pro bowler
    Matt Schuab
    Jerome Mathis - pro bowler
    Andre Johnson -pro bowler
    Dunta Robinson - pro bowler
The rest of the starting secondary
    Steve McKinnely

Pretty sure i left off someone. Point is though, these are guys that you cant just replace.

Ahman Green, Jerome Mathis, and Dunta Robinson arent sure to ever be the same. Dunta's injury is career threatening but this guy broke into that top tier of cornerbacks this year. Mathis was a devin hester on kickoff returns but was out last year and didnt show as much speed when he came back. He is out again for a whole year and i doubt he can do half of what he used to do. Green is getting very old.

Also injured is Spencer, guy with all the potential, dont know if he will ever do anything.

If we are going to make fun of someone else's punctuation, why not put a space between at and least. Then we might consider going ahead and putting the -y- on the end of the difficult word "very". Then if we wanted to go whole hog we could even put the apostrophe in our own contractions such as "can't" and "aren't". Finally, we might could even spell Steve McKinney's name correctly and REALLY show off our mad skills.

I dont think you can count Ahman Green and Schaub as bad luck injuries.

They appear to be injury prone.

Of course, we knew that about Ahman.

    Lots of sentence fragments here.

But anyways, Jerome Mathis is another guy who is injury prone. If we are going to bring in guys with histories of injuries, then we will get burned.

I just can't feel too optimistic about this team right now. Every team goes through a certain amount of injuries. And even with all our guys, I'm not too confident we would be on our way to 9-7.

I'm hoping we don't have a twenty-four million dollar IR member on our hands.

...and Jacoby Jones - just not the same since his injury.(hopefully temporary as he's probably playing hurt to a degree)

Bad teams seem to have lots of injuries and turnovers. I don't think it is luck or the absence thereof. Playing behind the Texan's offensive line has to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world next to actual combat.

there is still little evidence to suggest the Texans back-office (coaches, GM's, etc. know what they're doing). Better than the last regime? Likely, but not for sure.

On the GM, obviously we are still less talented than a lot of the teams we play. Given the salary cap rules, etc. in the NFL, it takes time, but in year 3 (next year) it better start looking equitable with some of the better teams in the league.

On coaching...well, to me the most important job of the coach is game-planning and in-game adjustments....areas where the last regime was HORRIBLE...and this one appears middle of the pack so far.

hope they improve as the talent does..

We definitely need secondary help -- no question there, although the play of Fred Bennet since he got the starting job has been a real bright spot for us. The new O-line injuries are just too much - this season is pretty much over.

Next year's draft: Offensive line and secondary. I really wouldn't mind if we spent all of our picks on those two areas and didn't bother drafting skill positions at all.

Texans were awesome until the major injury bug bit us in the ass against the Colts.

Texans have had so many "key" injuries this season.

BTW....Titan's QB only had 5 TD's to 13 INT's before this game?!

There are a lot of reasons to be (cautiously) optimistic about next year. Without such catastrophic strings of injuries, we could have had a much better season. But it's hard to overcome so many key losses. Dayne is starting to do a nice job, but I'm not completely sold on him as a number one running back. And Ahman Green has been a disappointment. Andre's injury has allowed the Texans to discover some depth in the receiving corps. Schaub is a very capable QB...he's no Brady or Manning, but I'd say above average...and Sage...well let's just say when Scaub goes down, I feel ok knowing Sage is stepping into the game. And I think the coaching has done a fine job of trying to create a winning culture and a professional attitude.

However, this team has had way, way, way too many turnovers this season...as well as stupid penalties. Those things reflect poorly on the coaches because it tells me that this team isn't as disciplined as they need to be. They CANNOT afford to blow key situations in a game by fumbling the ball or committing a hold or false start...that stuff has happened way too much for my liking and I'm starting to wonder if Kubiak really addresses this. Look at today, Jacoby had a costly turnover, yet he still remained in the game...you need to sit him on the bench, fine him 500 dollars or make him clean the defense's jocks or something....anything...just send a damn message already that this s*** won't be tolerated. If Kubiak can do that, then he has my vote of confidence. But I just don't see this team reaching the next level unless, among other things, they can tighten up those careless mistakes.

Dallas and New England have superior offensive lines.

Our QB got knocked on his keester again today and was knocked out the game.

We gotta get a dominant left tackle.
