Yao starts the game 0-4 and has two points while Al Jefferson is getting hot and people on this site are going bezerk. Calling out Yao (including Soft Tofu) as if he is the worst center in the league, and all the knee jerk reactions that are possible. lets face it Yao is not going to stun you with his speed,agility,vertical leap or quickness but he is one of the most consistent players in the league today. Why is there so much hate for Yao?
So many cheap fans around. Yao deserves better. For this whole season Yao is the most consistent player in this team.

Jefferson has averaged around 34 ppg and 17 rpg in his last 3 games against the Rockets -- guarded more often than not by Yao. And ... the Rockets have won every game.
Yao has proven himself as a good player in the league, not by his talent but his great effort. He deserves to be commend. However,he needs to do better to bring the team to go further.
why wait til the game end before making a judgment of him for the whole season. one quarter is all you need.
Well, at least those prepubescent girls at the Toyota Center love Yao. Actually, I've noticed that alot of white girls like Yao. Last time the Rockets were at Detroit, I heard a bunch of teenage white girls behind me go, "I like that big Asian guy, who is he?"
Even though i am a Y-O-F, i tend to think of Yao with 2-side: the Shawn Bradley Yao and the Hakeem Yao. So it depends on which Yao is showing up on the floor. His game can be as weak as Shawn Bradley such as not able to get rebounds and lazily swatting the ball to his teammates rather than rebounding himself or moving slowly up and down the court as if he needs oxygen. Not able to play defense due to slowness for some reason. Or you see an energetic Yao on the court with super quickness and super awareness in terms of protecting the basket and blocking everything aggressively. And backing down and dominating the paint. So it really depends on which Yao is showing up on the floor. Maybe this is the reason why experts don't give Yao full credit when it comes to MVP consideration because Yao just doen't play up to his potential consistently.
you are asking for something Yao doesn't have. Yao is slow because he is freaking tall. You want a fast center? there are tons of them in the league. Defense? Yao is the center piece of both offense and defense in this rox team.
