So, I just got home from my girlfriend's, and someone had left the tv on. They were watching something, but whenever I got home, the show called "The 700 Club" was on. After 5 minutes, I hate this show. They discussed something on the London "suicide" bombings. Now, halfway through this discussion, and about 3 minutes after using the word "curiouser" twice in a row in the same sentence, the guy just bursts out saying something like, "Have you ever wondered why everytime some religious extremist group does something, it's Muslims? Christians would never do anything like that. The answer is simple: They are taught that. It's in their religion. Christians are never taught that. Blah blah blah" Saying something like that on tv (no matter what time a night it is) is just absolutely inexcuseable. If this guy would have said that about 4 hours earlier, it might have made national headlines. I'm not even a Muslim, or religious at all, but that angers me to no end.
Being muslim myself, i would have to say that's just an ignorant and pathetic comment made by a fool. What freaking religion teaches that? We are not taught to go become crazed suicide bombers. It's a group of extremists thats all it is. It's sad the ignorance level in these matters. Every country has extremist groups, not all are religous but they exist. The great thing is that no one has to comment on something like this or defend it when the comment is that ignorant and stupid. Not worth my time or any one elses.....best to leave them ranting because they are in the minority....
You must not be familiar with the 700 Club. If I ever want to get good and pissed off, I watch that program.
The truth is, there are extremists in both Islam and Christianity and both of them will do and say things others dont like. Nothing to get bent out of shape about.
! Now this is really off topic, but I finally figured it out: Pat Robertson is Pat Buchanan. = wow! Man, both are bad options. I prefer this guy....or girl. i gotta get some props for the It's Pat reference
I disagree. This type of assinine bigotry is the root cause of many of the world's problems. Ugh - what hypocrisy...
Well apparently he has not heard of the KKK. Or maybe I am wrong and they are just a nice group of guys. Point is....you cannot take a small handful of people and think their actions mirror the whole majority. Also, I have a huge problem with the term Islamic "Fundamentalist". Last time I checked these kinds of terrorist actions were not fundamental to the religion. In fact, the religion condemns it. So I just hate it when someone uses that term, it just perpetuates the ignorance and ignorance leads to fear and hate.
they had Frank Reich on there once. it was the hand of God that helped Reich overcome a 35-3 deficit and guide the buffalo bills past the houston oilers in 1992, or so they said. i guess all of us oiler fans are going to hell
LOL! It's freakin' Pat Robertson, Eddiewassnubbed, you never heard of the guy? I find that show hilarious whenever I flip around and come across it. Bigotry is everywhere, but for more moderate, positive Christian perspective tune in to "Jack Van Impe Presents" on Sunday nights. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell are well-known bigots that no one with half a brain takes seriously...well, may be gwayneco but really few else do.
Here's the sad part.. he has been on TV forever and still has a solid audience, but I doubt those people ever think for themselves anyhow..
I like how this thread has all these condemnations of Pat Robertson as a bigot and then goes on with all these generalizations about how stupid his audience is.
I dont think he's a bigot, just wrong and I would assume most of the people that buy into what he spews are wrong also..I would say I was giving criticism not bigotry..
