Does anybody care that the Indy 500 is today? It seems the popularity of this race has fallen big time. It used to be such a huge event. I saw the beginning. Apparantly, they still use the theme song from Delta Force when they introduce the drivers, ahh yes, tradition.

Hmmmm,....just shy of 12 hours and not a single comment? Question answered!

I was there in '77 when Rick Mears won it. It was a VERY big deal back then. I was a teenager,...I had a blast.

I watched it. I am a huge racing fan, mostly NASCAR though. IRL races get boring alot of the time.

I was at the 500 yesterday. I'm not a race fan but I just moved to Indy about 3 weeks ago for work. It is very easy to get wrapped up in all of the hype and I had a good time. You can believe how fast these cars go and how loud they are. I had seats in the tower right where the cars would go into the pit. We were on the inside of the track. Anyway, I suggest if you ever get the chance to go to definitely do it. I am also gonna go to the Brickyard later this year just to say I went to that one too.
