Besides the 24 hour fitness/other fitness contracts?(Would pay an entrance fee[not too steep])

Does anybody know where some hooping/weights spots are around Houston these days?

A church gym? Rec gym? A gathering of individuals that hoop on certain days at certain times, indoors?

It's getting colder and the concrete is killing me :(

    Suggestions?

YMCA always had the best combination back in the day, the Post Oak Y was a very good place to hoop.

Got to play with Calvin Murphy, Allen Levell, Pearl Washington, Rodney McCray.....lots of folks.....good ball too.

If you wanted to really get into it the best game was Saturday morning at 7am...most of the guys above were in that game, and it was full court with subs coming in and out.....

Out of all those guys...Levell was the best and fastest.....Pearl was unstoppable when he wanted to be, and McCray was the biggest puss on the floor....

Fitness connection by greenspoint. $79 enrollment fee which is bs but after that is 10 a month. Comes outs a lot cheaper than ballys. Has swimming pool, basketball court, weights, and lots of hot hispanic bootys :)

There is open gym every Saturday morning at 8 at Lakewood Church. You just park at the front of the church and walk up the stair on the north side of the building. It free and not many teams show up. Maybe about 3 or 4 teams worth.

Earlier this year I played at a pretty nice middle school gym with a group of guys (one of which is the bball coach) on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

I haven't been in contact with them since school ended for the summer, but I'll see if they are running again. If they are, I will extend an invite.

Oh, and it's generally full court with the same group of 10-15 guys and the games tend to be played at just the right level of competitiveness. Hustle, hard fouls on game point, etc. but without the pointless **** talking (for the most part).

Memorial Drive United Methodist Church @ Memorial Dr. and the Beltway. Massive indoor facility -- used to hoop there in HS during the Winter. It's a hike for those inside the loop.
