Everyone knws that Jalen Rose is his best friend in the world, and since they ar rebulding it might be a possibility that no one is talking about. And you know Isiah Thomas likes to wheel and deal and would trade just about anyone on that roster except for Rose or Jermaine O'Neal to get Webber. I also heard that Reggie Miller is trying to get Jordan to sign with the Pacers so they could possibly make a run at a title...and supposedly Webber said that he would look into the idea of landing anywhere Jordan went. They could make a serious run too. Could definitely be a possibility. O'Neal C Webber PF Harrington/Bender SF Miller/Jordan SG Rose/Best PG Not a bad team to go into the playoffs with, especially in the weaker Eastern Conference. ------------------ Don't EVER underestimate the Heart of a CHAMPION!
I think the Pacers are a very unlikely possibility for Webber. And I seriously doubt Jordan would ever play for them. ------------------
Just my opinion, but this doesn't seem very plausible to me. The Pacers are already way over the cap without Webber and Jordan. And Croshere, McKey and Best don't make nearly enough for a sign and trade with the Kings. I also don't see the teams under the cap (Bulls, Clips, Rockets) wanting to help the Pacers out. ------------------ GATER
come on, think about it. Croshere is under a 51 million dollar contract. Plus the fact that Rose and Isaiah are close to Webber because of the Detroit ties. And they arent having cap problems...they are gonna be a young team on the rise very soon. Look im not saying it will for sure happen, but geez dont be so quick to shoot down the idea either. Think about it before you discredit the very thought. I dont write crap, I do homework before I post anything. Dont let the number of posts fool you. ------------------ Don't EVER underestimate the Heart of a CHAMPION!
emoreland - Your post count is not a concern. Your attention to detail is. The Pacers ARE over the 2001-2002 Cap. Go to RealGm and you will observe the following: 1) Indiana is projected to have $49,856,031 in committed contract $ for the 2001-2002. They are substantially over the Cap (+$7M). 2) In order to be competitive (with the inclusion of MJ & C-Webb), the Pacers will need to retain Miller, Rose, & O'Neall who have a combined 2000-2001 salary in excess of $25.7M. Add anywhere from $14M to $20M for MJ & CW and just the starting lineup is at the projected Cap for 2001-2002. 3) Croshere is a Full BYC making him nearly impossible to trade. 4)The 7 teams with 2001 Cap space (Bulls, Clips, Pistons, Rockets, Sonics, Spurs, & Kings) have no incentive to facilitate Indiana in this. Nothing personal - Webber and Jordan to Indiana would be VERY difficult to do moneywise. ------------------ GATER
I don't want to get between you two, but Croshere will be at 75% BYC after July 1...I think...? ------------------
