I don't know enough about Clark yet to answer this. I have to read that thread and the associated 9-page article before I participate in the poll. P.S. I wonder how all this will be skewed by guys like Trader Jorge, johnheath, glynch, Legendary, Timing, etc. saying that they are "independent" and voting anyway.
Ahem, I am independent. I didn't vote for Clinton, Gore, or Bush. At this point I'd vote for Gumby over Bush so hell yeah I'd vote for Clark.
Is there a list of Clark's positions on the issues? I can't imagine anybody would know anything about him aside from seeing him on tv at briefings and such. It's amazing how people make judgments on people solely based on their communication skills. A very poor way to judge, imo. Bush gets clobbered by this. People are too small minded to look past communication errors and automatically think he's a dunce (pls spare me your jokes on this, liberals...). Clark seems to have benefited by this, though.
bigtexxx: Read the Clark thread and click on the Esquire link I provided. You can also go to draftwesleyclark.com for more info. Obviously his positions are not all known right now, but there's plenty of info there to make a decision as to who you like as of now. There's a lot more than there was on Powell when he was the subject of these types of polls. p.s. You're not an independent.
I agree. While I did my fair share of Bush bashing due to his mis-speaks and what not, I completely agree with you. People should vote for who represents their stances or who they believe would do the best job for our country. They shouldn't not vote for someone because of mis-speaks, they're too wooden, they wouldn't want to have a beer with him, or because they ask for Swiss on their cheesesteaks.
And I agree with both of you, but it's a red herring to say that people are only supporting Clark because he speaks well. His resume and many of his positions are available online.
I'd like that too. Alas, it's not an available option. Mr. C, even if you don't vote, would you be willing to share your opinion on Clark?
batman, you should have included a "lookie here" vote (ie, Arnold), so that people can see who is winning the tally. Hell, for you to even see the tally, you had to vote. Incidentally, I voted for Clark. And I am independent... I left home when I was 17.
One of my thoughts that nobody has talked about- where is he from? If he is from the South, that would be a perfect balance for Dean. I really don't know much about him though. Kind of hard to know what to think when he hasn't been in politics.
Achebe, I'm new to posting polls. Screwed up there. You're wrong about having to vote to view results though. You just click "View Results." And I didn't vote. I'm a Democrat. Mr. Clutch: Clark is from Arkansas. If you go to the other Clark thread and click on the Esquire article I posted you can read a lot about him. I'd really be interested in your take on him. And Kerry never had your vote.
