So! Did anyone else run out and pick up the new INCUBUS ablum this morning (or has had it downloaded for the past couple of weeks) ?

I really enjoy it. I think they managed to evolve past the bump in the road that was Morning View, but use elements from it to add to their evolving sound to come up with some pretty fine music for this ablum. Favorite songs would have to be the title track ACLOTM, Pistola, and the incredible Sick Sad Little World!

    Any thoughts?

I got it today, as well as the Lost Prophets cd, i think the Incubus cd is a lot more mellow than i thought it would be. I like when they do hard stuff like on their Science cd. Its not bad, but not up to me expectations, i listened to the whole cd one time through so far, who knows maybe i will change my mind.

With their new video, they have stepped into the realm closely bordering treason.

I will never again listen to, or purchase music by Incubus.

I am assuming you are refering to the video for "Megalomaniac".

How, IYO, is that video treasonist?

Are you talking about treason againt the United States government or against their musical roots or what?

It's idiotic, and yes against the US.

The war is not about oil. It's not like we are building a big pipe from Iraq to US or airlifting millions of gallons of oil back to the US.

It's about terrorism, despotism, evil, safety, humanitarianism.

Every song sounds the same. Minute intro with a start of a guitar rift with the same chords being repeated. Then Brandon Boyd singing with the same tune over and over. I miss the old Incubus that would just go crazy with their music. S.C.I.E.N.C.E was their best album, with Make Yourself coming in second and their thought process in selling out to a more listener friendly tune. Boyd went from a scruffy, dreadlock wearing singing maniac into a pretty boy aiming to get teenage girls hot and bothered after their music videos starting hit MTV. Whatever alternative music they had has gone down the drain.

Didn't really like it upon first listen. Not anywhere close to the great Morning View.

i think you forgot: propoganda and blindfolds.

i don't consider a country heroic when it creates a problem which causes the loss of many lives and then attempts to fix it by losing more.

    just my 2 cents.

Just for the record, though I do really enjoy ACLOTM, I 100% Completely and whole heartedly agree with you... S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is still the only ablum of theirs that NEVER gets old to me... I can just listen to it forever it seems like, and that's every single song, I love them all. I love how Brandon wasn't going for the whole Falsetto thing yet, and I love the harder, funkier sound.

BUT! My most favourite thing about that CD, and definetly Fungus Amongus as well, is how you feel like each song is like a lil' Journey, like the guys are all sitting there telling you a little story in each song, which is what makes (made I guess) Incubus just so much fun (A Certain Shade of Green, Azwethinkweiz, Hilikus, Take Me To Your Leader, Vitamin, etc. etc. etc.) .

Why do people become so offended when bands dispute political figures? Never understood how bands like Incubus or Pearl Jam can say things that thouroughly upset people.

Not the place to get to into it, but anyone who doesn't think that oil is a major player in war or any other foreign affairs for that matter is mistaken. You can't fathom the amount of power and money that comes with oil. Whoever has the most oil has the most power. It's as simple as that. Oil companies don't let their employess become kidnapped or murdered just for style points. American companies have employess in every corner of the world trying to get more and more oil. Except we can't get our hands on the biggest pot of gold, that is until Halliburton went into Iraq.

Just my two cents, everyone has their right to their own opinion.
