Do these occur often in the NBA? What kind of incentives are usually included? I believe Eddy Curry had a weight clause in his initial offer from the Bulls before he was traded to the Knicks, i also believe that Memphis had incentives in their initial offer for Stro(with a slighty higher price tag) last offseason which he rejected. I'd like to know where the line is for incentives and if they go far enough. I think he league needs more incentives for things such as weight gain for scrawny players, number of jump shots taken per day...anything to make sure a player they have signed has improved considerably in their time with their new team. Some players can easily find the desire within themselves to improve their game, but others simply refuse once the ink hits the paper, i think the league needs to try to work these for the next CBA, although i'm guessing it'll just result in a lock out.
Ummm, let's see if the union didn't disagree I am willing if these things are major issues for a player wanting to sign a contract they simply wouldn't and would re-up some other place.
