My apologies, but I find that I need to start this thread to keep myself from peeking in that other, more appropriate LOST thread. I am so anxious and excited about tonight that I can't click in there for fear of not only spoilers but also of somebody guessing something and turning out to be right (which would almost have the effect of a spoiler as well, illuminating an idea before I got to be surprised by it on the show itself). My girlfriend doesn't want to watch the pre-show with the actors. Says she wants to see the characters, not the actors. She also never wants to watch the 'scenes from next week' trailers, because she's so into the show that she wants everything to be a surprise. I can understand but I'm so wound up that I have to watch it. I also want as many LOST hours tonight as possible, before it sadly slips away for good. I don't even care about the answers; I love the questions. I wish the show could go on forever.
It may as well be the Super Bowl in our house. And credit where it's due - this BBS and the LOST thread posters have been fantastically responsible in regard to spoilers all year. And it's incredibly tough to avoid the spoilers and then resist the urge to blab about what you know. All that said...I'm going to be sad - the end always leaves you empty to some degree. Thankfully, I've still got the Real Housewives of New York to look forward to! LOL
I'm currently in line at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, where there are six sold-out screens showing the finale. This is madness! (insert Sparta joke here)
That sounds really fun, in a way. But my girlfriend and I have gotten into a habit of watching it alone and we savor the quiet in which to enjoy each tiny morsel. I turned down so many invitations to viewing parties of friends whose company I normally enjoy so much. I almost can't even imagine watching it with a crowd of strangers. I'd be too nervous about missing something. But I'm sure the crowds showing up at the Alamo Drafthouse will be great, respectful audience members as I'm sure they're all big fans.
I'm looking forward to watching the whole series again. I watched the first 2 hrs again last night and it was a very different experience than the first time.
I still don't understand the appeal of this show. I never understood the x-files, either. Or m*a"s*h.
Have you watched any of it? I find it hard to believe anyone could watch the 1st season and not be interested in it.
Did you watch the show from the very first episode or did you watch a random one. If you watch a random one, like I did the very first time I saw LOST, you will literally have ZERO clue of what's going on with the story because of the flashes. You have to start from episode 1 and move forward. Season 1 is the best season out there too, they really hook you in
I want to watch it all over again but that is so many episodes and even worse, so many "filler" episodes!
Bittersweet day today. I'm watching all of the pre-show with the cast and will watch the interviews afterwards with Kimmel. Very exciting.
I watched seasons 1 though 5 during the hiatus. I actually enjoyed the filler of season 3 during the rewatch. I didn't expect that. Maybe it's because I was knocking out 3-4 episodes a week and you don't have to wait between episodes.
I don't think I've seen the first season. I did see a significant amount of the season preview of the last season, where the produces were recapping episodes. I get the idea that all of these characters have backstory episodes but I was never interested enough in finding it out. By comparison, I was and still am hooked on gilmore girls. It was probably my favorite show in recent memory. I also am relatively hooked on true blood.
I gave LOST an honest chance several months ago, but after 7 or 8 episodes I just wasn't strongly drawn to it. Then friends started to tell me (not specifically) about the degree to which the show twists and turns down the line. That turned me off because I like shows and movies that are rooted in logic to some degree. From what I gather, just about ANYTHING can happen in LOST, to the point that you can theorize about what's going on, but you can never truly figure it out. That's just not as enjoyable to me. That said, I am recording the finale and will probably watch it just to see how they wrap up such an enigmatic series.
Good. Otherwise you'd have failed miserably. I take it you never watched the Gilmore Girls. And, you probably don't understand the movie Lost in Translation. Just happens to be my favorite film of all-time. Different strokes.
