Ok so i was reading that thing where we could have had the 6th pick. Well if Vancouver has to pay detroit or whoever next year. Would they give us the 6th pick for our 13 and 18 this year and our number 1 next year. Then they could give that one away and still draft 2 solid impact players this year.

May I have another Snowball Clutch? Please may I? Ill be a good little mole.... I promise.

The pick Vancouver/Memphis owes to Detroit must be their own and can not be conveyed. They're in a bad way!

    Gator,
The article states that Vancouver would have conveyed the 18th pick they got from us to detroit. Therefore, the pick does not have to be Vancouver's.

They had to convey a top 18 pick (anyones) this year or face having to give up their own next year. That was why it was such a big deal, enough for detroit to give up a first round pick and possibly take on salary from the magic.
