   I'm in the market for buying a picture scanner. I'm going to visit my grandfather in a few months and I wanted to scan some pictures he had at his place. Any recommendations?

   I would look around the area for a professional scanning service before I went and bought one. Commercial scanning costs have gone way down over the years and the quality will be much better than consumer scanners.
