    Hypothetical question:

If in the future there was a pill that could replace your meals everyday and it gives you the maximum level of vitamins, minerals, etc. your body needs for the day (and it was tasteless) minus the unhealthy content of real food; would you take that instead of eating real food?

This is a pleasure vs. practicality sort of thing. It would interest me to see your responses. I've always wondered what would happen where a conflict of interests like this were to be reached in the future.

Food. There would be no joy or satisfaction with pills.

Food. Not only for the pleasure but also for the comfort as this is one of the ways to bond with the family.

Think about it this way. We can already eat very healthy food in small portions that meet all of our nutritional requirements but fast food is still going strong.

If I take the pill, will it fill me up and satisfy my hunger?

Yes. It would satisfy your hunger but not your tastes.

I would take a pill for sure. I don't really eat for pleasure. Just for the functional sake of energy.

that's like saying, in the future would you want real V.J or a virtual one, like demolition man! WTF is going on here? satisfaction pills? I'm taking my flux capacitor and traveling back to the early 2000s when the future gets here. This is out of control!

What if the pill is digested 100% and you wouldn't have to poop it?

Nah sitting around a table and eating has been in our culture for too long to just give up.

Most of the time it's not even about the food, but the conversation. Food is just a great setting

If it was 100% digested that would free up so much time, Imagine all the time you waste eating and sitting on the ****ter. If the option to still socially eat out was there, I think it's win win.

I'm one of those "eat to live" types.

But the benefit of not being food crazy is that I get to be picky about always wanting to enjoy my food experience. I want to eat food, and I want it to be delicious, fresh and well made. Pills? Ugh. No thanks. That would be almost as insufferable as having to eat a big mac for dinner.

I'd do the pill. Healthier, easier, faster. And I could still hang out with my friends while they eat if I craved the socialization.

food has been and will always be a big part of my life so no i'll eat real food

but i wont mind taking those pills sometimes. would be useful in some situations like when i get a real job i could just take a little pill instead of spending time to make breakfast. an extra 10-30min to sleep or w/e

    i'd take both

Food. Pleasure is an important part of eating for me.
