Dallas Mavericks sellect Xue Yuyang, Center from China with their 57th pick.

It is obvious that their 7-6 stick failed to contain Yao so they resorted to taking a chance with Xue. They hope just like Wang, Xue will do the trick for them.

I have bad news for you little "d" - Yao is UNSTOPPABLE!!!!

But on the other hand, Malick will certainly subdue Dirk and make him cry.

    Game on!!!

I think it's just the desire of Mark Cuban to make Dallas a 'world' team. They have two Germans, a Canadian, two Frenchs, a Mexican and, of course, Americans already. They need this guy badly to represent Asia. ;)

This Xue kid is like 18 year old, so probably he wasn't playing much when Yao did that. Anyway, I heard Cuban said they traded him to Denver.

Well, Cuban's move is *too obvious*.

This is a courtesy to please Chinese. First they drafted WZZ(they wanted Yao actually), now Xue, then trade him off. They are aiming at Tang and Yi (this guy is 16 only, reportedly has more potential than Yao).

I think so far Rockets has very solid relationship with China BA, but Dallas is still one step closer to them.

His name is actually called Xue Yuxiang , and he only played in the CBA for ONE FRIGGIN' year...

There are other Chinese players better than Xue, but they just did not enter the draft this year...

I just don't like the way NBA teams drafting Chinese players solely for marketing purposes... just take a look at Wang Zhizhi and Menkge Bateer...

Yao Ming is the ONE AND ONLY Chinese player who has the calibre to play in the NBA... maybe Wang could improve his skills and play elsewhere, since the Clips have a logjam at centres and power forwards...

By the way, can Jeff or any other ClutchCity moderator please move this thread to the NBA forum, cuz Xue is not related to the Rockets...

Xue didn't get many chances to play Yao in China. He doesn't have the type of experience Wang has.
