I would love to commiserate with you thumbs, but after re-watching the 911 “tribute” the RNC played at their convention, I’ll just agree that yes we are all Americans and we should respect those that lost their lives that day and leave it at that.

    peace indeed

I'm kind of with Mc Mark on this one. I think as Americans and as humans we all grieve for and recognize the tragedy of 9/11 but the aftermath of it is what we argue about. 9/11 has in many ways become an ideological prism through which many people have used to justify various viewpoints. Or to use another metaphor 9/11 is a like a large gravitational body that bends the light around it so depending on where you ideologically stand what you view beyond it is different than what somebody else views.

just let's not politicize it or turn it into a hallmark card. take a moment to reflect if you must but let's keep this to ourselves, okay?

One of the tragedies of the idealogical prism we have consciously put in place around 9-11 is that it robs us of experiencing and remembering in a healthy and unified way.

I think Obama and McCain’s joint appearance at Ground Zero today was a nice start in the healing.

It was good to see...After all, we are not truly "enemies" in the grand scheme.
