    Hi Guys,

I am considering buying an in ground goal for my house to shoot around on.

I know Hoops Houston sells them but for their prices are quite high.

My plan is for me to shoot around and so my 4.5 year old son can enjoy basketball at home since it won't be introduced to him at school for a number of years.

Sports Authority sells a number of them in the 500 dollar range without installation. Are their companies that do the installs if you buy it from a different retailer?

I want it to look nice, not cheesy(the cheep ones), not crooked (what could happen if I do it myself)

I would ask the most qualified person in America..."Little" Nicko Chancellor

    "Shoot, Granddaddy, shoot"

Any particular reason you don't want a portable? Would save money and trouble.

I have put a couple of these in before and they do require quite a bit of work. Keeping it straight is not an issue since most of them come with a sleeve that you put in the ground. Surround that sleeve with concrete and then just slide the main pole into the sleeve. It does get heavy (I think most of them require you to put concrete into the pole as well). If you dont feel like doing all that put an ad out on craigs list . Anybody with moderate construction skills can put it in real easy. The last one I put in was bought at academy and they did not do any installs.
