Alperen Sengun's only "struggle" was that he couldn't get into the game. When he was in, he was much better than Jalen and Fred tonight.

I'm all for accountability, but it has to be based on actual performance. If some players can play badly and there is no accountability, and another player actually plays better, but gets yanked after one mistake and then never gets back onto the court, then something is off.

I have been a huge Ime fan, but he needs to question himself with regards to that.

I'm a Sengun fan, but y'all said the same thing about Silas. Now Udoka is doing it and y'all are giving him the same criticism. Maybe it's something about Sengun (e.g. lack of defense).

it's as simple as that. It's not entirely on Sengun but he cannot be our last line of defense.

um I’m pretty sure he did this to Jalen last year. The issue with Alpi is he gets gassed to fast and doesn’t rebound that good so he went with hotter hands. Yes green and Fred shouldn’t have played anymore either but he felt like they might get going I guess. The problem with this team is we are too soft and don’t play with a sense of urgency. I think starting Tari over Jabari could actually help alpi get going early

I mean, I watched the entire game. Looney beat him once, yes. But Jalen and Fred played much worse defense and couldn't hit the backside of a barn and played a lot more.

I believe this link https://www.nba.com/game/gsw-vs-hou-0022400144/box-score will have - probably tomorrow - some features where you can watch clips of every shot he defended or something. Other than the Looney basket, I didn't see anything where he would have been egregiously bad (certainly not relative to the other Rockets). And offensively, he was certainly more efficient than the other starters.

I don’t think he “struggled” I think he wasn’t given a chance to play, especially in OT. If he has an injury, then sit him! It’s not an in-shape/out-of-shape thing.

Frustrating loss and a frustrating response

Ime is providing 76ers levels of clarity here. Either Sengun is injured or he is not. Either Sengun is out of shape or he's in shape. Now choose and play him accordingly.

Prior to this game, Alpi was no. 4 in the NBA in rebounds (edit: Still is tied for 4th in rebounds per game).

Per 48 minutes, he is no. 1 in the entire NBA in rebounds.

Point still stands, he doesn’t rebound good. He rebounds great!

Udoka never think he should take any blame for the loss. Lol

PS: Oh Udoka even doesn't think Fred should take any blame for the loss either.

    It's all Sengun's fault.

Did he talk about why we can't get any easy looks through structured offense or fvv's struggles?

It's a coaching philosophy issue. Not all coaches think the same way, but some coaches think your center is like your goalie. Doesn't matter if your other guards are 1-12 or 1-11, doesn't matter if they're letting guys blow past them on the perimeter, doesn't matter if your center is the only guy generating good offense. If people are driving into the rim, and he's not protecting the rim, then you have to bench him, and nothing else matters. Some coaches see it this way and some of them don't. I don't think Sengun will succeed on a team where the coach thinks about basketball in this way.

Not sure what game you're watching- but maybe you need to do better with your takes?

Alpy is maddeningly poor (so far) this year. We need him back to a semblance of what he can be!!

He leads the NBA in rebounds per minute, and before this game also in box outs and in screen assists.

In this game, he was 5-10 while Fred and Jalen went 4-25.

    What are you watching?
