No bueno. He thinks it's the lack of stops and doubling down on the iso offense.

Doesn't care about offense. He's the reverse D'Antoni.

This team could have a 80 or might and he'd still say our defense wasn't enough.

Imagine blaming it all on the defense when you've got starters with Jabroni and Brooks' numbers? It's pure insanity.

They won the combined turnover/offensive rebound battle by 7 and still lost, that's a lack of offensive output and nothing more.

This guy being unable or unwilling to see the problem puts a hard cap on how good this team can be. Everyone goes on about how he had a top offense in Boston for the 2nd half of his year there, but considering how effortlessly that figure was not only matched, but topped, by a former assistant, in both his years coaching, it doesn't mean much anymore.

Same deadpan tone, but I count at least 4 guys he explicitly criticized here. Starting with the 2 who just got paid.

It still makes no sense you play Fred 37 minutes, which is the most in our players.

    Shooting 4/18 is hot trash.

    Sloppy
Relaxed, started doing it by ourselves at times
    Sometimes making/missing shots (7/22 1st half, 6/21 2nd half)
Things we did do (continue to guard) we let go of the rope as far as that in 2nd half
Shots won’t always fall. You can still rely on defense.
As long as shots are good, not worried. Wasn’t poor shot selection.
Fred won’t shoot as badly again.
Sometimes it won’t be your night based on flow of the game (Jabari)
Good with the shots overall? “Yeah”

We have depth, but Ime played like we only have Fred and Dillon. Lmao.

    I miss Dantoni and Adelman.

Even in D'Antoni's less-inspired later tenure where our offense consisted of just Beard doing iso ball looked more creative and had teams scrambling better than Udoka's "offense." Prime D'Antoni or Adelman's offenses look like masterclasses in comparison.

Fred had the worst shot of the night, a heat check 28 footer off the dribble when he already started 0/5.

This roster isn't built to shoot well from 3, if they can't win against awful teams at 31%, then they won't win more than 35 games this year.

This is the worst most disappointing opening loss since 2023, and 2022, and..…..

..... actually wait when was the last time this franchise actually didn't **** the opening night bed, did Les Alexander own the team?

last opening night was an even more epic disaster because it looked like we didn't even belong on the same court as the Magic that game.

    So.... Improvement :D

The Magic turned out to be at about the exact same level as the Rockets, just in a weaker conference.

This would be like losing last year's opening game to a 22 win Spurs team, imagine that!

It's crazy that he played and coached with Popovich the most unselfish team high iq basketball

Well, Presti came out of the Popovich school as well.

Meanwhile "washed" Beard on 20/11/7 going into the 4th and keeping the Clippers minus Kawhi's broken husk in a game against Booker, Durant and Beal. More offensive talent in his left pinky than Ime's got in his entire body.
