He's the right guy, but obviously needs help on that side.

That, a new backcourt...and we're good to go.

Is Mike D'Antoni available? Last time I checked he was hired as coaching advisor by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021.

While I agree he doesn't seem to be the guy to admit a fault and let someone else manage something. I mean he stubbornly leaves FVV out there the most minutes every game.

Ime's a good coach, but this team lacks offensive talent. He got us to #2 seed and 52 wins with no shooters. All the people hating on Ime sound foolish.

He is a good coach, not a great one.

In the 2022 finals Ime played Marcus Smart and left Pritchard on the bench, they lost.

Mazula traded Smart and started playing a more balanced roster, and they won....it is not a coincidence that a guy who stunk on offense and was in the league because of his defense would overvalue defense.

Defense doesn't win - BALANCE wins.

To add to those, Ben Sullivan should be replaced with someone competent.

The NBA offense is one of the least complex styles of play there is in basketball. Everyone plays the same read and react style, and rarely does that change with the coach.

The only thing differently another coach would do is maybe dictate who gets the ball when and where. You can't really change the offense without changing the personnel because regardless of the coach the ball is probably still going to the same players, in the same spots, with the same spacing, screens being set, and cuts being made.

Yes it matters how those decisions are made by the coach, motivation, and communication matters too. However there's very little different you'd see last night if a D'Antoni was on the bench vs Royal Ivey, or whomever is calling plays on offense.

He comes across as someone with a lot of pride who won’t accept any help.

I don't think the plays are the problem. The problem is just what we all knew and have seen this whole season. We dont have a go to guy, other than Alpi trying to play bully ball. No matter the offense, in the playoffs things get tight, and we can't shoot. A bunch of guards that are extremely inconsistent. It's not Ime fault when we are missing wide open shots, easy layups and free throws.

Weird because ime did decide personnel. He chose fred vanvleet over harden

Ime knew damn well if he let harden sign here harden would be holding the clipboard during timeouts by allstar break and his ass would be on the bench

This is how I feel. This is a flawed team and it’s a wonder they are a second seed. The team still doesn’t have a much needed perimeter alpha player. Without that it’s going to be hard to do anything in the playoffs.

Balance, you need defenders and you need guys that can shoot, we are FULL of defense only guys....we need balance....

Which is why I wanted Reed and Cam to be playing all year as backups so we have more options....now we are limited to probably Holiday and Green.

    Neither of which played.

Ime doesn't need an offensive assistant, he needs to actually develop youngsters on their shooting.

Reed Sheppard - dead eye shooter in college, can't shoot in the NBA
Jabari - dead eye shooter in college, below average shooter in the NBA
Jalen - Finally made a jump in 3pt% shooting this year... still below average
Sengun - Range kept decreasing rather than increasing
Cam - Looked like the worst shooter in the NBA to begin the season and never really recovered
Amen - Improved but still TBD on future success
Tari - Never improved his shooting year to year

That's our "Core 7" everyone's hyped up about coming into the season. Not a single one capable of shooting at even league average level from outside.

I think he needs some offensive two way players.

It's actually amazing this teams has gotten thus far with our brick layers. It's just impossible to score when the defense can sag so far off your guards.

The bigger issue the roster… I think a lot of fans ASSumed we are better than we are because our roster is setup for the 82 season grind.

The reason why FVV is out there so much is because we don’t have another ball handler who can set up and run an offense. If feeding Sengun was so easy and running PNR was so easy then Amen and Green would be doing it more.

He is a great coach anyone that says different is brain dead. we have way over achieved. We should’ve been maybe a play in team with the talent that we have on the court.

but he could definitely use help on the offensive side. He is one of the worst I’ve ever seen at calling plays out of a timeout. And obviously just in general. The offense isn’t good other than rebounding lol
