But at some point Yao is gonna have to start b****in to the refs. Actually Id prefer hsi teamates, and the rockets coaching staff to get involved. It is ridiculous how hes being pushed around, he cant even establish position. ANd please dont say its cause hes weak. Guys liek Jerome James and Drobjnak are leaning all their weight and pushing with both arms and forearms. Im getting really pissed off. I dont blame Mr. Mean tonight, I am starting to blame the refs. Jesus.......Cato gets caller for just touching a person. Don't they see Yao is getting killed? Even if he falls down...they didn't call crap. This happens like every game. People are gonna continue to do it if they don't get called for it.!!!!!!! And man...Francis was called for charging on Brent Barry.....who's feet were in the little semicircle. And he didn't even fall down. That was a terrible call. But also.....Barry charged into Posey....but that wasn't an offensive foul. Terrible!!!!! There were many bad calls like every game. The game was very messy and sloppy.....
As a said in another board, all the great big men goes through. Shaq gets mugged daily, Hakeem used to get hit in the elbows when he shoots etc etc. What Yao got to do is fight back, give the other player a little chin music with his elbows every now and then if they're playing dirty. Who cares if he gets a flagarant every now and then, he'll send a message. Instead of listening to backstreet boys, the coaching squad should force him to listen to eminem to psyche him up while allowing him to play his favorite shoot'em game at the same time. Make him desensitise to violence and then after the tip off, watch out, let the world be afraid
Yeah, opponents constantly push Yao off his block, and refs consistently call that travelling. What a crock. And I don't agree with expecting Yao to retaliate, 'cause honestly, the calls aren't going both ways with Yao. He gets called for touch fouls ... probably because he's still a rookie, and so for some reason, refs have decided that if you're a rookie, you don't get fouled very often, yet you foul more often. Don't ask me how they came to that conclusion. That charge on Francis was a total crock, when you could plainly see that not only was Barry not set, one of his feet was WELL into that little circle they decided to draw underneath the basket a couple of years ago. It particularly burned that Yao got called for a blocking violation on the next play because although he was set, the refs determined he was in said little circle. The carrying, travelling, whatever calls on Francis were also a hoax. Players on every single team do that all game, yet somehow they call a violation on Francis? More than once?
OH MY LORD. That stupid referee. Doesn't he know Stevie Franchise is the Streetball CHAMP?!?!? God...that was just stupid. TWO TIMES TOO. Francis couldn't believe it. See.......that made up 3 of Francis's 5 turnovers. All 3 was because of bad calls....sure...he was palming and carrying. And then....that ridiculous charging call. It would be nice if there was like replay and refs could check if someone complained....But then games would last for FIVE HOURS instead of already 2.5 hours. Yao needs some respect... Oh well.....homecourt advantage.
this is something i agree with 100%. every coach in the nba with a legitimate big man will, at some point in the season, rack up a few technicals arguing for their big man. it's part of the process of getting your big man some respect. it a) keeps your big man from blowing up and getting thrown out the game b) gets more foul shots from your big man; and c) stops the physical abuse, thus lessening the chance for injury to your big man i think the time has arrived for our coach to throw a sideline tantrum.
Man......look at the Sonics. All their big men suck, but they still complain. They get suspended and get technical fouls. They stand up for their team.....like Jerry Sloan and Pat Riley. We have to do something......before Yao is assaulted.
Jason Collier should just come off the bench and knock the sh*t out of the next center that tries to push Yao around. He would get suspended but its all good
