I'm sick of chasing Superstars that don't want to come here.

I don't know why the Rockets keep getting drug into every trade discussion involving Howard/Bynum. Orlando has come out again & said they wouldn't consider any trade that didn't start with Bynum & Howard blocked a trade to come here. We're not going to get Bynum & Pau has been very vocal about not wanting to come to Houston.

First: Pau, you're an idiot. LA has more than proven they don't want you anymore. You need to start looking for a team that fits your needs & play hardball with LA. I don't want you on our team because you don't want to be here & we'd have to give up a lot of good young talent for a player that's been labeled as soft & is on the down hill side of his career.

Second: After Howard, Bynum & Pau, there just isn't anything on either team that I would even remotely be interested in.

Third: LA & Orlando can do a straight Howard for Bynum trade. They don't need us to make it work. In my opinion, they see all the young talent we have & are hoping to steal some of it away for nothing.

In summary: I wouldn't piss on either one of them if they were on fire in the middle of a pissing contest. I'm sick & tired of this constant chase of superstar free agents that goes on every year.

I think it's time that more teams follow the Oklahoma City model & build their teams through the draft & signing lower tier free agents. There was a day when teams were actually teams. While everyone wants to win a Championship at any cost, I can't see how it could be as satisfying buying a team as opposed to building one & watching it grow into a true Championship team. I reference the Rockets first championship. The sight of Dream just sitting on the scorer's table & clutching the trophy says it all. It's not that I'm bitter or anything. I just thought I'd voice my opinion.

Here's a link to the Rocket's Championship story. Enjoy the trip down memory lane. I know I did.;)

If a player doesn't want to be here, I don't want them here, either.

I'm sure the New York Yankees and their fans do not have a problem with that, nor does the Los Angeles Lakers.

Spending alot of money in free agency is one thing, but you cannot buy championships. I'm sorry there's alot more work that goes into than that. For every 1997 Florida Marlin team you can point out, I can counter with a number of odd Mets and Phillies team.

There needs to be an auto response made to threads like this. Superstars go where other stars are. We didn't have a problem attracting stars when we had one already. If the whole "bright lights" theory was true, how come nobody ever lined up to play for the Knicks? Oh, right, it didn't happen til they got Amare. How come nobody was demanding trades to the Clippers? Oh yeah, nobody came near that franchise til they drafted Blake Griffin. Why would all these future NBA stars choose Lexington, Kentucky - I repeat, Lexington, Kentucky! - as the place they go to college?

The problem with trying to follow OKC's model, is that you have to suck. Really really suck, to keep getting high picks in the draft.

The problem with that is, the Rockets don't suck - they're just mediocre. Best of the worst / worst of the best, that kind of thing. It's why we picked 14th for two straight year. Literally the middle of the road.

With that being said, we're in no man's land, right now. We can't compete unless we get good talent, but we're not in a position to say "screw it, let's tank for the next three years and pick up our own KD / Westbrook / Harden trio and win win win no matter what."

This is why pushing to get a superstar is the right thing to do; it is a lot easier gutting the team for a superstar than it is to tank for 3 seasons in a row. The Bobcats and Wizards couldn't gut the team, because they have no good players. Washington has John Wall, but they can't trade him because that would be moot; star for star.

D-Will didnt want to go to the Nets, now Dwight has been pouting to go join him there.

Brooklyn or not, you must all realise that Dwight going there isn't contingent on it being NY but some other factor....

Okay then, how's chasing superstars worked out for us so far? We keep being the bride left at the alter with no groom. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over expecting a different result. It's time we changed our approach. Morey needs to build a team & quit trying to hit a homerun with one big trade.

Oh, & by the way, I'll never be a Spurs fan.

Hottoddie, will it make you feel better if I assure you that Pau Gasol is NOT a superstar?

Let's just stick our thumbs up our butts and wait for the next Kevin Durant to declare for the draft. That's what it will take.

You said you wanted to do it the OKC way, right?

you should be sick of Morey treating players like assests( and going public about it in the media). Thats probably the main reason hahaha
