    for dial-up?
    it's all the same.

    56K is 56K....
    or 33.6K is 33.6K
    or 28.8K is 28.8K

you could probably find a cheaper local alternative to those big names...

$19.95+ a month is way too much for dial up, if you ask me...

ev1.net seems to be doing well in the dialup business...

if you want a cheap, reliable ISP, go with ev1.net. I just switched from them to Road Runner, but really liked ev1. unfortunately they don't have high-speed access.

Dial-up my butt. Get RoadRunner and don't ever think about anything else.

That is, if you have bout 45 bucks to blow a month. :D

I didn't know they still charge for dial up...paying 20 bucks a month for it is insane.

I've had Verizion dsl for about a year and it's worth every cent...40 a month and the internet is like an entirely different world from dial up.

I would only go with dial up if you dont go online much but if you're on enough to get a 2nd phone line just get RR for the same price of $40 as apposed to $23 for AOL and $20 for a phone line. As far as dial up I have heard good things about AT&T and Earthlink. However there is one disadvantage of High speed and that is that when you travel you cant connect, so I also have AOL which has a ton of phone numbers (the only feature they have thats any good)

You might give Bluelight.com a try. Yahoo and K-Mart use to offer free access, but now K-Mart offers it for $8.95 a month. I don't use it myself, but I read about it in a computer magazine. If you do go with Bluelight, read the fine print. I'm not sure how unlimited their "unlimited" access really is. It may be fine, but the asterisk by the word "unlimted" on the page below makes me wonder.

I forgot to ask where you were, but I see from your profile you're in Houston. Get ev1.net for $10/month with no contract. It's faster than AOL because you don't have the pain in the a$$ GUI to load all the time.

I, myself, works at EV1 as a techie. I believe that we do have the best offer. With each account you get 300MB of web space and unlimited email address. You may think I am just here to adverstise my company, to tell you the truth, I love my job but my pay sucks. Its good for now cuz I am just a part timer and attending full time at U of H. If you want more info, check out the site

    Ev1.net

If you check the webcams on the Sun, Tues, or Wed, you may see me under the Tech Support Lvl. 2 cam.
