The lease on my current apt ends at the end of this month so my friend and I have been looking for places to live since june. I would have continued the lease here but its waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive I only moved here because I lived too far from work and I actually saved money by moving closer to work.

Anyways but we found the perfect place this past sunday a 3bd/3ba place for 2100 here in west la. If anyone knows the area they know that this price is outrageously cheap. Both my friend and I assumed it was a run down place but we went to go look at it. Man we were floored! The place is twice as nice as the place I am living in now and the room were huge. Everyone who came to see it that day seemed to want it even before seeing it (at that price you'd be crazy not to want it), but after seeing that the place was amazing it was all the more necessary.

Long story short, my friend and I were 2 of about 250-260 applicants for the place and we didnt even have a third roomate yet while many of the applicants had a full set of occupiants. The owner of the building was telling us that somehow God (Jesus,Allah,Buddha, in my case Ganesha) wanted us to have the place because she received over 100 emails a day and would only bother reading 5 or 6 of them but somehow one of the emails she read was always from me or my friend. Also that she only read two references just as a sample and the two references she randomly chose were our two references. She showed us the applications of some of the other prospective tenants and it was crazy a lot of the people were making good money like we are but there were quite a few applicants that were making more than 70k/year.

She asked if it was possible to meet at 10pm last night to sign the lease and so we did. At first she was saying when the lease was signed she wanted all three occupants to sign at once, but now she was fine with us bringing in a third person later on. I was worried about not having a third and being shot down automatically so i was feeling around to find a third. The one guy who both my friend and I thought was a cool guy who had a lot of similar interests said he loved the nba so I asked him what his team was and he said it was the mavs. after he left I told my friend that there would be no way i would live with a mavs fan.

yeah i am sooo stoked we are getting the whole sports package in hd from directv, sunday ticket, league pass the whole shebang.

now we just have to find a third roomate. if anyone here in west la needs a place to live for a year preferably more and is clean and financially responsible (good credit stable job) the rent for the third room is 620/mo w/ your own bathroom and then of course extra for utils which probably be like 80/mo mainly cuz we'd be getting a huge tv package. send me a email via the bbs

man i am cloud nine right now anyone who has been apartment searching knows the feeling of relief, like the world has been lifted off my shoulders.

You're not even a little worried about the whole 'god' thing from your future landlady?

not really she is the landlord but doesnt live there. according to the current tenants she came by once a month to collect the rent and just talk to them about how things were going, they spoke highly of her. I am religious myself (hindu) so its not gonna really bother me even if the landlord is of a different religion. I mean i prayed at night for the place and it worked. I do add in every night about the rockets' success in my prayers, but somehow the Big Guy (or Girl) upstairs still toys with me on that.

the landlord of the building is a widow, her husband was the person who really was the apartment guy so now she just maintains it. She hasnt raised rent on any of the current tenants and only raises it when people move out (the current people payed 1700 for the place past 3 years, even at 2100 this place is a huge steal) she even told my friend and I when we offered to pay 2200 for the place when we first saw it, along with 15 other applicants that money was not an issue to her she is fine with the rent, she knows she can easily get more money but she is concern with the type of people who live there. If they are clean and responsible thats all she wanted.

So yeah not worried about the God thing at all
