In an in-direct way. Two albums I've worked promotions on were nominated for Grammys yesterday! Unfortunately, they're competing AGAINST each other. In the "Best Latin/Traditional Tropic Album" Category, I worked on: "Barbarito Torres" by Barbarito Torres and "Pasado Y Presente" by Rubalcaba Both are Cuban albums. Pasado Y Presente is more "authentic/traditional Cuban" while BT has shades of latin jazz in it. BT is the lute player for the Buena Vista Social Club if anyone is curious. It's a KILLER album. Just had to share a little. I hope one wins so I can go around to bars and brag to women that I'm a winner of a Grammy.
Once you're w/ a Latin Grammy star, then you are considered in our eyes as a Grammy banger...err...winner!
Funny you say that Manny, that was the second thing that wnt through my mind. The first was obviously, "Damn, that certificate will look nice on my wall". The way I look at it, I'm only a few nominees and one win behnd Milli Vanilli! WOO HOO!
Vo-Ville nets 38, and now a Grammy nomination. Everything is coming up....Nuggets? Wakefieldian congrats.
congrats a good friend of mine has a certificate like that hanging on his wall. He was the sound engineer on a CD that won a Grammy. Some Tejano band I don't know the name of off hand.
More I think about it, more I think it'd be nice to have it framed on a chain and wear it around to bars. First, a grammy, then Britney!
The best part about it is that now instead of just being "drummer Bob Smith," you can now be "Grammy-nominated drummer Bob Smith."
