Im sure there's ballers here who can recommend me cheap (under 60 hopefully), comfortable, and durable shoes. BTW, anyone have Starbury's? I know they're dirt cheap, but are they actually good?
I bought the Starbury's to play basketball. They may be cheap, but they are just as durable and comfortable as any other $100 basketball shoe. If you want shoes just to hoop in, Starbury is the way to go. Very inexpensive but just as good as the rest. Shoes are made for less than $14.99, it nice to see Marbury trying to help out people who can't shell out $100 for basketball kicks.
I'd have to disagree with the above poster who reccomended Starbury's. I bought a pair just to try them out and they fell apart within a week of playing. And what little tread there was on the shoe to begin with was worn flat. For under 60 I would go to academy and check out what they have there. I personally dig the and1 shoes. A lot of them fit my feet very well.
I was lucky enough to find a pair of Huarache 2k5 OTs at the outlet for 29.99. I wish they still made the Huarache 2K4 though. Anyone else know what the updated shoe for this one is?
Try Marshall's or Ross. They usually have a good assortment of basketball shoes, you might even get you some nice Jordans.

There aren't that many good high tops from what I've seen anymore. I've rolled both ankles countless times over the years driving the lane and coming down on a foot. Ankle braces/sleeves don't work consistently with anything but HT for me. I'm about to start hooping consistently again as I'm moving back from Tahoe. I need some choos man. What's out there these days guys? Price doesn't matter....support,lightweight,and flexible
I bought Starburys over spring break and I have found no problem with them. But these are my first basketball shoes. I have always worn regular running shoes and never twisted my ankle or anything, but I just wanted to have some basketball shoes and starbury's wore cheap and so I bought them. I am currently in a basketball class because I wanted to take a fun class and we run 2/3 full court games twice a week and the shoes have worked out great for me with no sign of being worn out. So coming from a person that has never bought basketball shoes, I recommend Starburys. But I mean I'm sure more expensive shoes will probably be better quality.
I just bought the vince carter shoes for 40 bucks on eastbay. They are really comfortable to ball in. I would just goto the clearance section of eastbay.com and narrow the search to your size and basketball shoes. Also search for coupons for eastbay and you'll get like 10% or something off.
Adidas - superstars. They are durable, have a good arch, are comfortable and within your price range. They are also versatile. I wear them for tennis and basketball.
I saw 60 minutes(or one of those shows)this past friday and they had an entire segment on the Starburry's.they took them to the lab and cut them in half, they were just as good as the Jordan's.
wow, thanks for all the input guys! like one of the above posters i don't know much about basketball shoes having always worn running shoes instead, but yeah, my running shoes are too worn out now. I'll definitely try out all of the above shoes mentioned.
Ben Wallace is joining the injured list then. My son tore through these "NBA" quality shoes in 2 months. You get what you pay for. Meanwhile his "Academy priced" Reeboks have lasted 6 months +. btw- I got my Nike Air Max at the outlet store for $19.99... And they're red/white/silver/grey just like my Rockets!
