If you take the ice out of your freezer you can use it to focus the sunlight onto a twig and start a fire. Oh. Wait. It's hot up there. Nope. I've got nothing for ya.
I was, actually still am, working at an investment bank in Manhattan. I have no way to get home to Boston. I guess I am in the the few buildings in Manhattan that did not lose power so in that sense I am pretty fortunate. I think that I will spend the night in the office because I'm guessing that the hotels do not have power. Hope I'll be able to go home tomorrow morning.
My school had power outages a couple times last year for no apparent reason. Perfect sunny day and the power would go out. But most of the time it was very short. One time, joking around, I said it would come on and it did. It freaked out my friend, and me. Also, one time it did last pretty long. It went out before school and was still off at about 11 AM. They said they'd probably send us home since they couldn't feed us in the cafeteria but then the power came on. We were a bunch of angry teenagers. Hopefully, you guys in the affected areas, like NY, will get power soon. When Claudette hit here, we were without power for like a week. It isn't so bad the 1st day, but by the 2nd and 3rd day things begin to get boring, hot and stinky. We basically lost everything we had in our freezer. Had about 6 trash bags of food to send to the dumpsters. The house didn't smell so great when the power finally came on.
Haven't you always wanted to own a flatscreen TV, and a new 3disc, DVD player? I'm not saying to loot anything, I'm just saying no one knows who you are.
And neither do you. Hmmmm.... That's not a bad idea; not a bad idea at all. I mean there's no power in jail, so it's an easy escape. All I really want is some nice deli meats.
Someone has to take MacBeth's place. edit: just saw him post, so my deep thoughts segment is over...for now.
