Yes!!!!!! My little ("bigger") cousin, FROM HOUSTON, qualified for the Olympics in the 400 meter hurdles. http://www.lsusports.net/feature.html?ref=B1F8DAD2-E9DF-D970-7844E3771E049B02 http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2675298 He might get lucky and get a spot on the 4X100 and 4X400 relay teams as well, considering that LSU has won the title in the 4X100 twice and 4X400 once since he's been there. I'm making the trip to Athens FOR DAMN SURE. Unfortunately, the trip to Athens will cost A LOT. Goodbye Rocket season tickets (sorry Tim). I think I have a valid excuse though....
Oh man, Athens (GA) is AWESOME! It was the best college town I'd seen from the dozens I have visited over the past few years. I didn't choose it over Miami (FL), (education was a bit of a concern haha) but it was seriously amazing. Great nightlife; people; WOMEN. When did you head there and for what reason?

Awesome. I'm going to be out in Atlanta and Athens at the end of this week. I have a friend who went to UGA who's going to show me around campus, and then we'll be going to a Counting Crows show on Monday night at Chastain Park. I'm pretty pumped. I hope to catch a Braves game out there, as well- not because I'm a Braves fan, but I just love seeing all the stadiums and such when I'm out in a new part of the country. If I have time, I'm going to try to check out the G-Tech campus, as well as Auburn.
I feel the same way about arenas and stadiums, and Turner Field is definitely worth seeing; I've been probably a dozen times (counting the Olympics). It's in a weird location though; not really near downtown and from the stadium you can see 'low-cost' real estate. You would think that the organization or city would pump money into the surrounding areas, but guess not. Oh, and they have bison dogs if you want to try them. Kind of like a smoky, slightly-less flavorful hot dog. Anyway, you will definitely enjoy Athens; amazing music scene. Here's a timeline (most notably REM, B-52's, even Jimmy Buffet) of Athens music history: http://www.gamusichall.com/athens.htm Tech is a nice campus; right next to GA State. In fact, I tihnk both schools share dorms. It's also right by The Varsity, which I'm sure you know of. Now Auburn... I won't be the first to tell you that this place is terrible. I really don't know of a whole lot there is to do there, especially in the summer, but maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in. Regardless, enjoy the area, the entire North Georgia/East Alabama region! EDIT: Oh yeah, sorry I got so off topic, but good luck to your cousin and enjoy Greece!
Ugh....I just started a new job with another Accounting firm, and August is our busiest time of the year. Management does not know if I will be able to get time off to go....
