Let's consider that our Beloved Bunch has:

    1) Tmac with out an early (but minor) injury
    2) been adapting to a completely new offensive system
    3) been dealing with a fierce struggle for PT at the 1, which I feel is a huge adjustment for the whole team.
    4) a new coach
    5) had an insanely tough schedule for the first few weeks
    6) been integrating into our rotation a new international player for major minutes from the start of the season.
    7) had to deal with a plethora of offseason hype, being touted as the next power to be.

And yet we are 6-5! I am not delusional and do not feel that we are ready for serious contention this year, but seeing glimpses of what we can be when everything is clicking gives me alot of hope.

I say in about a month we will have everything cranking and our beloved bunch will be a force to be reckoned with! Thank you for your time.

There is no place in this forum for that kind of talk sir.

From what I have been hearing we have very little of Adelman's offense installed. The fact that running even basic basketball sets is getting our players much easier baskets this year than last has me optomistic about our future prospects as we get more acclimated to Adelman's system.

Actually I think we'd better to tank this season and hopefully get a lotto draft to rebuild this franchise.

I say we trade Tmac + Rafer for AI + Melo and drop Scola for Varejao.

YES!! seeing the Rockets play is absolutely joyous right now.. especially with a guy throwing up bricks and another guy running around like a chicken its HEAD cut off (no pun intended to refer to Luther Head  )..

as long as we are around .500, we are golden.. even if we have big losing streaks, they don't mean anything, never underestimate the heart of an Alston!

and while we're at it, why not trade Tmac, Yao, and Francis for an inknown commodity to add to our glorious bunch?

Thanks for your input of optimism early on right now! I also feel good about the Rockets! Many new things going on with this team, eventually everything will come through.

Dude.. who did something nasty to your Wheaties?

Optimism is a good thing, don't disrespect it just because you don't see any silver linings.

To the original poster.. good for you! Personally I think a lot of what you said is valid.

Let's just say on this day before US Thanksgiving... I am thankful I don't root for the Heat, or the Sonics, or the Knicks. Comparatively I am very thankful for this group we follow. They will recover.

Oh, and what in the hell is with the Luther hate? In the only two games where he got meaningful minutes, he was an asset for us. He just needs to start hitting those 3s a little more consistently, but don't ever mention him in the same breath as Rafer when talking about sucktastic Rockets.

Because Head was out there in the final minutes of a game and was asked to do something he isnt comfortable with yet. And he looked bad. Head needs to stick to cutting to the basket and nailing the open 3. If he can do that, folks will get off his back.

Some folks like to make the most of what is given, others like to whine and complain about what ifs and what could be.

Life gives you lemons. Some make lemonade, others throw them at people making the lemonade and remain thirsty.

No, folks won't get off his back. I remember how he barely played the first couple of games and people were calling for his head. OH NO! Head turned it over for the second time in 6 games! Bench him!

I think the Rockets have a chance to be very special this season. Yao looks like the best at his position and TMac's playing out of mind. I know the team looks a lot like last year, but Bonzi, James and Scola add a lot of what was missing last year. The Rox have all the pieces to go all the way! Yes, I said it - championship. Shot blocking, defense, play makers, outside shooting, inside game and rebounding. Plus a bench to boot. I know a lot of posters don't think much about the point guard position, but it could be the best combination the Rockets have had - ever, (with the exception of Smith/Cassell). The main obstacle is the Spurs and Mavs and others. If we were in the eastern conference, we'd be dominate, but to be the best, you have to beat the best. And I think having the best teams in the league in our division will only make us stronger. It's early in the season, but this team, at least - has a chance. So enjoy it already!
