I gotta say, I'm pretty excited by a team built from almost scratch by Morey. The following news indicates to me that we are definitely rebuilding: - Uncertainty of Yao playing. - Artest 1-yr deal (rejected). - Battier offered in trade. - Landry offered for lottery picks. - Amare Stoudamire rumors. I think we can pretty much add up that we're rebuilding for sure. I hope it's not true because I always did and will believe in the Yao/TMac combo. I hope those two both bounce back this coming season and are heathy the rest of their lives. But I'm a bigger fan of Morey than those two, so I'm very excited about this new project which, with our current pieces, I don't think will take more than 2 seasons.
Its kind of a mixed excitement, of maybe rebuilding a solid young team, mixed with the sadness of our big 3 never working and the fact that both of our superstars have career ending injuries........... also a season being a bad team really sucks, 2010 free agency is far far away altough no one can stand the constant " if we were healthy" line year after year , so yeah rebuilding may be the way to go
I think we should all start new threads whenever we get excited about something that's being discussed in 90 other threads. Oh, wait a minute. No, I don't.
Also, I think it's a great idea to post in threads which I dislike despite being able to preview by hovering the mouse over the title. Oh wait, no I don't. If you don't think it should exist, posting in it keeps it alive longer.
Why be excited about rebuilding when you're coming off a season like the Rockets just had? They nearly got past the Lakers, who went on to win it all. No one else challenged them like the Rockets. Now we have all of those players, except Yao, coming back, and people are excited about the idea of throwing that out the window so Morey can build a team almost from scratch? Morey has been incredible, but people are getting too carried away, talking as if he's perfect and can do no wrong. I'd like to see him keep most of the players we have (who he brought in in the first place), add a key player or two, replace the ones who leave, and try to keep the team mostly intact, save for a few upgrades. Rebuilding, to me, implies tearing the team down and basically starting over, which is what the Rockets should be trying to avoid doing.
