So, let me set it up for you. Derek (aka moestavern19) takes me to Galveston today. It's our two year anniversary (since the day we actually laid eyes on each other). We get to the beach around 5 and have a nice time swimming, and then he takes me to dinner. Then the storm hit, and there was all that lightning and rain, well...it kinda put a damper on our plans to walk on the beach at sunset. We went in Kroger and read magazines for awhile until the storm let up. Then we get outside, and there is the biggest, most beautiful rainbow cascading over the gulf, right as the sun is going down. We decide to take a walk down west beach. Not too many people out after the storm. I'm so in awe and taking pictures of the scenery. Then, Derek pulls out a hand-written note and tells me to read it. I do, and it's awfully sweet and romantic, and the last line is to the effect of, "and there's one last question to ask." I look up and he has a box and he gets down on one knee and pops the question. I mean daaaaaaang. It was so amazing and perfect it blew my mind. And the ring...I can't stop staring at it. This day so beats Game 3 and the toothless wonder's block for best day of 2008. Just wanted to brag on my man...err, my FIANCE. He's pretty awesome!
