Been with this company for eight years, and they were always accommodating until this year. Now, they just suck. Let me fill y'all in on the first BIG thing. They are giving "select" customers a special unlimited calls and long distance offer for $49. My girl filled me in. They told me I wasn't eligible and used that explanation above. "Select customers only" was their lame excuse. I HIGHLY recommend every T mobile customer call them and find out if they qualify. Either you'll save some money, or you'll be ticked off, but it's worth it too see. The reason I'm livid is: 1) First off, they have been dropping my calls A LOT more frequently. Almost a third of my calls get dropped these days. 2) I was signed up for the wrong plan when I set up my Blackberry. I ended up paying for 10 months of their "Int'l email service. I thought I was paying for internet. $200. No refund. 3) Even though I have unlimited texts, they charged me $150 for the Int'l ones. They aren't even paying more for those. No refund. 4) My phones trackball died, so I can't access pretty much anything. Oops, they say my warranty expired. $100. I mean there was no budge from them on anything. I'm not sure what happened to them this year, but I am done. (Well, I'm done in November. If I cancel now, it's an extra $200.) Anyone else having issues with them?
Never been with T-Mobile, but ever since the iPhone 3G came out, I switched to AT&T from Sprint. AT&T, I have to say is better than Verizon and Sprint. I've been with Verizon before for a couple of years, and then I switched to Sprint not too long after that and had that for a couple of years. Never had T-Mobile before, but I've only heard things about good prices with them. If you are going to switch, I suggest you switch to AT&T. And if you're a techie, wait for the new iPhone to come out in June/July...
Their service sucks for sure, and no company will usually ever give you refund on your mistake for service. (everything is your mistake pretty much according to them) but they have the cheapest family plan last time I checked. I was getting calls drop a few weeks ago but much better these days.
Interesting. On an unrelated note the family has made the decision to leave the ****ty AT&T empire. Awful awful signal strength. Switching to verizon within the week.
Verizon is badass. I've had for five years now and I've only gotten like 1 or 2 dropped calls during that whole time. I drive all over the place even through farm roads in the middle of nowhere and such and it is rare I find myself with no signal strength.
Sprints horrible. Thats the worst. Worst pricing, just as bad service. AT&T's signal is actually really good compared to Tmobile. Verizon is decent too but their plans are stupid TMobile is probably the cheapest but the signal and customer support sucks
Yeah, we'll see how the plans all end up working out. T-mobile seems like the clique teeny choice to me almost, and from a few friends they say the signals about average. Houston Cellular/Cingular/ATT/World Takeover Corp. has sucked for us for quite a while now. I definitely agree on sprint, haven't heard much good on them.
Where do you live? In Houston, I haven't experienced ANY problems with my AT&T phone (iPhone) ever since I've had it (July 2008) and I go all around town. Verizon is crap, don't get that, they are overpriced as is Sprint. You will get charges on your bill that you don't even know of and they won't remove them.
Northwest side of town. 290/610. Yeah, it's just always been 2-3 bars. A lot of the time it's 4 to 5 but then magically when I call people they disappear.
lol excellent diction.. that's the first time I've ever seen the verb "gig" used in a sentence not pertaining to my school's signature hand gesture I completely agree with this though.. every single carrier has its problems.. cingular used to be freaking awesome, then it became AT&T and they took the shiny glorified piece of crap called the iphone and a bunch of ignorant people joined and are getting ripped of 30 extra bucks a month as we speak.. this weakened the network a lot and caused costumer service to be shot to hell simply because they don't give a crap if a costumer leaves! they have a bunch of iphone worshipping r****ds waiting for the new piece improved piece of junk to come out! Verizon is over priced and a$$ backwards! who doesn't use SIM cards? the thing that bothers the most about them is that despite being a huge ripoff, they are cheap as hell: they disable to bluetooth file-transfer feature so they can extra-rip you off by making you send stuff via multimedia messages..like, why do that? t-mobile is, well, total garbage.. their phones suck, they're coverage sucks, but they're my far the most affordable and they rip you off the least.. but it's not worth it IMO 2nd tier providers aren't even worth discussing.. so yeah, the least of the 3 evil is unfortunately AT&T..
I have been with a lot of different companies but have been with T-Mobile for the past 5 years. I have had absolutely no service problems throughout that time period and their customer service has been nothing short of terrific. They consistently rated at or near the top of customer service, that does not mean they are 100% customer satisfaction but they are MUCH better than Sprint or Verizon as far as I can tell. By the way I was one of those 'select' customers offered the $49.99 unlimited talk plan, and I turned it down. From what I understand, that offer is only extended to the 'light' users who don't use up a lot of minutes. If you are the type who spends hours each day talking on his cell phone then you will NOT be extended that special offer, and for good reason. It is a business afterall. Regarding the dropped calls, all companies have it, but I have not had any problems whatsoever with dropped calls and I have lived in different cities. If it is really frequent, it might be a phone issue and not a network issue. The rest of your complaints sound more like rants about how they would not replace your phone free of charge out of warranty, and other miscellaneous costs. I completely understand, it gets frustrating at times and these costs add up. Just get extended warranty or something and you will be OK.
I've had TMobile for 9 years and havent had any issues with CS or their billing. There were a few times where I had issues with the phone, they'd replace it, and one time even swapped out the old school Nokia 5190 cause it didn't work and I bought it off Ebay back in '01. Sadly, I work for Verizon, and I don't even use their own service because majority of the people I know is on Tmobile, so thats free calls for me. Verizon is actually good for their coverage, if your a mobile person and is in the boonies most of your time, thats the way to go, if your going to be in Houston and occasionally travel to a big market city, Cricket is your best bet for the price. I have my G1 for the past month, and LOVE IT, nothing bad to say about it... so far. btw Fatty, I got the offer when I signed in to my Tmobile account through the website. Probably didn't get it cause of the extra charges you've been racking up, but then again, if you paid them for it, they should be all over your nuts to stay. Also with your trackball, they can easily replaceable, do a quick Google search, you can probably buy a replacement for less than $5 and replace it yourself.
i just paid my phone bill yesterday. $360.00 no lie. Customer Service told me they put my checking acct on automatic bill pay then they didn't take out my payment and didn't give me any warning before they totally suspended my service.
I'm paying my last $100 phone bill this week. Starting in April, I'm getting unlimited blackberry internet, unlimited txts, and 450 min for $20...or $25 a month. Can't remember.
I have been with Sprint for eight years now, and I often ask myself why. And then I figure they all suck, so I might as well go with the devil I know (and, actually, my Sprint service has been fine. I just get an awfully large number of billing errors that all require multiple calls over the course of several months to fix).
Lol, it wasn't. Just talking about general people in love with the iphone degrading service quality. I wasn't aware that this was an industry wide problem actually. That being said, we can't do any worse with Verizon so we'll give them a shot for a few years.
i want an iphone pretty badly but im unwilling to give up verizons awesome service, even though you definitely pay for it. i'll be happy when verizon releases their blackberry bold, which hopefully is sooner rather than later.
