I'm concerned with the Courtney Lee signing

Yes it's only 6 games in, but Ariza was much better and not worth the trade. The thing is, Ariza was a big part of the team and his replacement is apparently not capable to takeover his role. Courtney Lee will last 1 season or less with the rockets because he's not a good scorer and overrated defender. Yes they don't play the same position but he was still considered Ariza's replacement. I don't see anything he's great at. Yes the other players like Miller, Martin, Budinger, Brooks, have their weaknesses in defense but they're all great at something. At least Brad miller has height and experience in Adelman's system. Budinger is a great shooter from anywhere.

On the bright side, Ish Smith plays like Rajon Rondo without shooting skills which hopefully he can develop.

Thanks, just an opinion that I'm sure some of you agree on.

Couldn't disagree with you more... Not sure if you have watched the games this year, but Lee has been great on defense so far, brings a lot of energy and is satisfied with coming off of the bench and take on the roll as a go to guy.

Ariza was a clubhouse cancer, quit on the team many nights and had very over rated defense.

I think it was a great trade, and when the team starts clicking on all cylinders, Lee will be one of the key components of this team.

Well honestly Ariza trade was a $$$ move. I don't think anyone can pretend with a straight face that it wasn't. Ariza had settled into the 4rth option by the time Martin arrived, and was actually contributing across the board like AK 47 or Iggy.

Removing the glut at sf (or what looked like the glut at sf), getting Lee, all these are just the upsides of this particular $$$ decision. As far as $$$ decisions go, I think it wasn't bad, and probably the best you could hope for in this situation.

So I think comparing Lee and Ariza straight up isn't fair because we didn't trade Ariza to get Lee. We traded Ariza to save money, Lee was just a byproduct of the trade. I'm pretty happy with it, maybe we can get a good SF by trading away JT. Wesley Johnson for JT? JT's playing better right now anyway, and Kahn!!!'s a moron *shrug*

Don't worry, his contract is expiring soon, unlike the albatross he replaced.

You consider a person cancerous because he was one of the team leaders in stats? Seriously? Sure he had a chip on his shoulder but a lot of players have it. I watched the games, last night he couldn't even run point guard properly in garbage time against the worst team in the league. Even as a 'shooting' guard he shoots bricks and takes bad shots. His defense is ok, but not great. He's short but not quick so I don't see being short as a plus for defense or offense..ariza is tall and has long arms which makes him 2 times the defender.
Ok, we'll see til midseason so we can have a better analysis on him.

There is no glut on SF, get real man. Yes, possibly it was a $$$ move to get Bosh. But not because of a glut on SF since Martin or Ariza can play together since either one can shift to SG position without a problem and even play together on the court.

    Trevor Ariza: 33.5 minutes, 10.7 pts/36, 5.2 reb/36, 2.7 ast/36, 2.1 stl/36, 47.9 TS%, 10.4 PER

    Courtney Lee: 19.7 minutes, 14.6 pts/36, 3.7 reb/36, 2.4 ast/36, 1.8 stl/36, 50.3 TS%, 14.1 PER.

I think Ariza is the better player overall because he's a bigger difference maker on the defensive end. But Lee isn't doing so bad in comparison in the early going.

he was a great defender and one of the main reasons of their sound defense. Yea rockets apparently don't need him for defense since they're doing great on it right now.......NOT.
