New X-Files movie 'coming soon' A new film reviving the cult 1990s TV series The X-Files is moving closer to being made, according to reports. David Duchovny, one of the show's stars, has told reporters he will receive a script next week. Duchovny and co-star Gillian Anderson are both "on board" to reprise their roles as alien-hunting special agents Mulder and Scully, he said. The script has been written by creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The pair co-wrote the first X-Files movie, which came out almost a decade ago. The original thriller series was a hit when it ran from 1993-2002, winning three Golden Globes for best TV drama. Duchovny was speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour, promoting his new comedy Californication, in which he plays a novelist struggling with a complicated private life. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6900524.stm
That would be sweet, the first movie was great. I thought they were worried there wouldn't be anymore b/c the first one grossed so little though. I guess this Roswell death bed confession stuff has revived interest, ha.
I've been following this for a LONG time. There was a legal battle between Fox, Chris Carter, and the movie rights. But they now have the legal issues worked out. They've said that the new movie will NOT be part of the core mythology and will be a "standalone" plotline. I'm a huge fan.
i remember reading when x-files ended that he and his wife (tea leoni) intended to semi-retire, raise their kids and only do occasional work. i think its by choice that he doesnt do much anymore. i always thought he was a good actor (but im an x-files fan). seems like there would be plenty of roles out there for him if he wanted it.
i've heard that she is actually a raging biatch and a wild child...regardless, she'd probably be a handful maybe you forgot about his fantastic co-starring role in a little timeless classic called...Zoolander??
