    Hey all,

I don't know if any of you out there remember me, but I used to post back in the old days (started in late 1997 or early 1998 if I remember correctly). I stopped in the beginning of 2001.

Well, for anyone who is interested...

I left Costa Rica after graduation, went to live in England for about 8 months. Had a great time, then went back to my home country (Holland) to study at the Erasmus University. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy my time there (other than the amazing Feyenoord Rotteram- my club!) , and so decided to go and study in Edinburgh at the U of E!

So, here I am. 2 years after my last post, hope I'll be able to add to the discussion once more! I did check the board every once in a while, but it's hard to keep with all the new people that have joined since I left. Lots has changed!

So, guys, does anyone remember me? I think I've seen vets like Antisonic and Sigemund posting... ah, the good old days.

    It's good to be back.

    Yes, I remember you.

Heypartner had a soft spot in his heart for you and seems like he had friends also in Costa Rica.

You made mention about needing/finding a job and limited Spanish skills if I remember correctly.

Welcome back, Ace. Sure I remember you. Didn't you have a really good Rockets webpage?

Yeah, true, I remember that. Wow, that was ages ago. Well, am at university now... in search of a part time job! Edinburgh is slightly more expensive than Holland... at least I speak English so it shouldn't be too hard to find something!

I haven't been to a Hearts game yet, but I do plan to do so soon. They have this one Dutch player called Mark de Vries, I really want to see him play. He's not amazing or anything, I just like the fact that he is Dutch and plays for a local club. A friend of mine also knows one of their younger players (19) from High School... Neil Janczyk.

Is anyone a ManU fan? Do you know what's happened to that one Scottish talent by the name of Darren Fletcher? He is a friend of a friend's but he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. He was meant to be the saviour or Scottish football, but my buddy hasn't heard of him since he left Edinburgh....

Am also planning to see Celtic play Feyenoord in a friendly in January which should be quite cool!

Whenever I play soccer, I wear a Hearts of Midlothian jersey :). Got it some time back when I was there on vacation. What about that big fire they had there recently? Did it affect the city a whole lot? How do you cope with the weather as opposed to Costa Rica? :) BTW, I used to be "Det The Threat" here, from Germany.

Oh, right... cool.... why the change of name?

It didn't get a lot of the landmark buildings, but it was in the Old Town section of the city... it is quite noticeable but at least it didn't spread as much as had been originally feared. The AI department for the University was destroyed.

So what do you think of Edinburgh? Nice city, right? One of the more beautiful ones in Europe, IMO. Where do you live now?

The weather... I don't mind the cold as much it's how wet it is around here. It is incredible how often it rains. But then again it's the same in CR during the rainy season. I actually prefer colder weather so it's not a problem for me.

Beautiful city, but a bit too dark and grey during the winter months, just like Copenhagen/Denmark where I am living right now.

Just as long as they don't make you eat Haggis over there :D.

I first learned English not far from Edinburgh in an abbey in Fort Augustus, where the Loch Ness begins...beautiful landscape.

The abbey is now for sale...so if you have enough money... :D.

Just felt like changing the name, don't know why...thought the old one was stupid...and now I am stuck with this one here which I am also tired of, but Clutch does not do name changes anymore (which I perfectly understand).

What you doing in Denmark? Studying? My friend at Erasmus always went on about the women down there... is it true?!

Haggis... man, that stuff seems disgusting. What about the fried mars bars they sell? Now that stuff looks nasty. Never tried tho...

Smeggy- I prefer Rangers. Dutch influence, you see.

Anti- How's it going, man? Anything going on with your site? What you up to now?

Man, I know what you mean about nicknames- I hate mine! Oh the stupid things we do when we're young! They are my initials, so at least I have some sort of excuse!

Nah, I haven't updated that thing since 1999. Always had big plans, just never got around to doing anything. Then I got a job and never had the time.

I had to move to Clear Lake in late 2000, and broke my computer so couldn't post for a year (about the same time you stopped posting too). I've came back in late '01, and found that a lot of the old timers have come and gone (though there are many fantastic newer guys). It's great to see another old-school guy back! :D

Man, remember when we were working on that site about the Comets? What about Clutchtown.com?! I used to have big plans as well, am thinking of starting something up again but I don't get to see many of the games. Increased interest in football and my move to Europe kinda distanced me from the Rockets... man, it's weird to think I've "known" some of you guys since high school! lol.

    Hey Ace. Welcome back. :)

Weren't you the one with the thread about having a PC being shipped to Costa Rica and/or finding one cheap online? :)
