That first quarter against Orlando was the best basketball I have EVER seen the Rockets play, and I've been watching this team since 1995. The guard play was amazing, and the forwards knew when to step back and let the cutters through (excepting one instance). If the Rockets figure out what they did right in the first quarter and manage to do that all season, they'll be unstoppable.

They looked like seasoned champions, and made the Magic look absolutely childish! I've seen the Rockets on the receiving end of this kind of play WAY too many times...

Let's not forget that we still have Mo Taylor, Eddie Griffin, and Eric Piatkowski out, and when we bring them back into a team with a Slovakian who thinks he's Reggie Miller (Boki), a Jim Jackson who seems to be everywhere on the court, a Front court that has the scoring ability of Wilt Chamberlain in a nightclub, and the Twin Towers in Ming/Cato.

My question to the board is, what are we missing that would cause us NOT to expect HUGE things from this team?

I'm pumped too, but I think Boki's actually from Slovenia. Let's get our former Soviet republics memorized already, people! It's been over a decade now. ;)

Just to improve your geography. SLOVENIA (Boki is from there) was NEVER a part of former Soviet union. Slovenia was a part of the coutry known as YUGOSLAVIA. Slovenia is located in the heart of Europe (I have to repeat that SLOVENIA part as often as posible). Slovenian neighbours are ITALY, AUSTRIA, HUNGARY and CROATIA. As you can see, you can learn something new every day.

Its all coming together now isn't it. Those hard practices seem to really be paying off. Of course the key is consistency. Lets see how long they can sustain this. I think they'll hit a few bumps but never fall back to their losing ways. Its gonna keep getting better and be a special season.

Whoops, let's change that to former Soviet BLOC republics. By the way, has Slovenia joined the EU yet?

The Rockets had a good offensive first quarter (and half, for that matter), but only won the quarter by 3 points, so to say its the best quarter they've played since 1995 is a stretch. If you ask me, it isn't even the best quarter they've played this year - the 4th quarter against New Jersey takes that title so far.
