Its great shooting the 3 ball, but that doesn't mean you have to jack up every shot from behind the arc for the sake of it.
It’s almost like...... The coach..... When things aren’t going right... Should like... Coach the team...
It’s morey ball the 3 > 2 in some idiotic way of saying any 3 is better than the highest percentage 2
What you really mean is, It's great having a 111.5 Offensive Efficiency Rating in a game, but that doesn't mean you always have to run an offense that scores a 111.5 ORtg. There have been 470 wins to 148 losses in the NBA this season with teams having the Offensive Rating the Rockets had tonight That is a .759 Winning Percentage Which equals 62 Wins Now, if you consider our low turnovers of 12, and the majority of those 148 losses above were due to the losing team having more TOs. only 52 losses have occurend with an ORtg of 111.5 and TOV% of what Rockets had tonight. That is a .900 Winning perfectage Which equals 74 wins So, when teams do what we did, 111.5 ORtg on low turnovers, they win 9 out of 10 times. Bottomline: Offensive wasn't the problem
looks bad when they arent going in, looks good when they are. In the playoffs, they are not going to go in more often than they are since the pressure is higher. We've been b****ing about shooting too many 3s for years now and it's never going to change under the influence of Daryl Morey. If you hate this kind of basketball, I would assume you'd want Morey gone as well.
Actually, I don’t think that’s what he means at all. His complaint has more to do with players electing to jack up 3 after 3 while almost completely ignoring the 2, the midrange game. The team is so reliant on 3’s it makes for a poor game performance when the 3-ball isn’t falling. And its not as though the team not named Harden can knock the 3 ball down consistently. In fact, the offensive efficiency rating is down from last year. To your point, defense is a major problem. Defensively we had a high efficiency rating last year and this year our defensive efficiency rating is near last in the league. I gues thats what you get when your PF is 6’5” and no one can guard or rebound worth a damn.
Missed three pointers lead to long rebounds and makes it easier for the opposing team to get a fast break going. Its aggravating to watch the team jack up three after three and keep missing. If you're going to miss, then you either track the rebound or get running back on defense.
If 3 is better than 2 then why not chuck them from halfcourt and not have to worry about transition defense
we have the best looks in the league guys have got to hit those shots. The reason James Harden will get doubled is guys are standing in spots like statues waiting to get the ball and missing at an alarming rate.
