I'll admit, I gave up on the Rockets...

I was at my friend's house watching the game, and the Rockets fell down 86-76 with three minutes to go, so I left..."Come on, man, there's still three minutes!" my friend was yelling at me. I politely shrugged him off, and headed home...I had this epic post written up in my mind about our lack of offensive execution...I was ready to flame Francis for commiting too many turnovers...Ready to manhandle Mobley for stupid decisions in crunch time...

When I got home, I turned on the tube to see how much the Rockets would lose by...

86-81?? Hmmm, ok I'll watch just till the end of the game. I saw the Warriors keep getting offensive rebounds and though, "Yeah, typical laziness by the Rocks...can't box out"

What's that? Larry Hughes dribbled off his foot? Rockets with the ball down by three. I was waiting for us to lose...Somewhere back in the dark recesses of my mind, I wanted the Rockets to lose...

Moochie hits a baseline three..."OK, we'll lose in overtime", I thought...

That jumper that Steve hit in OT over Sura was the first time I had hope since the third quarter. When KT dribbled into that double team and turned the ball over, the thoughts of doom returned...Wild floater on the fast break misses, Cato with the rebound...to Mooch...to KT, cherry picking for an easy dunk...gametime...

The Rockets played with something tonight...I belive the word is called "hussel". "Heart" or "determination" are a couple more...We should have lost this game, but somehow we found a way to win, and that's why I will always love this team.

Sure, we made a bunch of mistakes, and I'm sure someone will point them out...But there is another time for all that negativity. Tonight, the magic phrase is "two game winning streak"!

Winning is groovy, but this was a game that the Rockets SHOULD win.

Golden State is not a very good road team, and the Rockets lolligagged for 3 &1/2 quarters.

Golden State and the Rockets are very evenly matched. Look at their records. I think they both have misfiring collections of "talent" that play without discernable direction.

I certainly would expect and demand the Rockets become significantly better than the Golden States of the league. I would hope they work to be more like the Kings, Wolves, Mavs. You know, respectable.

Nevertheless, a good show of heart tonight, even with the miscues and errors, as noted above.

nicely said pasox2! I'm in total agreement, although I also agree with DD that this game shouldn't have been an incredibly hard win for the rockets.

We have a similar situation as GS -- we have the talent to be really good, but it's just not there yet. Golden State has a nice amount of talent (Jason Richardson, Antawn Jamison, etc.), but they are still not winning games.

haha. If you have to hustle to beat the warriors, then you know the lottery is around the corner. With the first pick......

I never doubted that we'd win the game. I always believe when the Rockets are down that they'd go on a run and win. When NBA League Pass started showing women's fitness I got pissed off. Luckily I go to see that nice Francis dunk first. So I just turned the channel to NBA.com TV and looked at the live scoreboard for the rest of the game.

Watched the whole game and damn near went crazy. About both the way we WERE playing, and the way we took the game over.

The ONLY reason we gave ourselves a chance to win was that we played aggressive, trapping, play-the-passing lanes defense down the stretch. This team needs to learn to "bring it" for a full 40 minutes every nite. We have no margin for error and simply have to grind it out at both ends to keep from digging ourselves in holes every nite. Sleepwalking won't cut it.

Guess it's part of the learning and maturing process:rolleyes: W

...and props to Cato; can't believe what I'm seeing from him.;)

Bringing it for a full 40 minutes a night might not do the trick against some of the better teams in the league. Maybe they should just "bring it" for a full 48 minutes every night.
That should do the trick.

At this point 40 minutes would be about 5 times more then they BRING it every night, so I am all for any type of upgrade.

:D
