Man, talk about a clusterf***. I've never seen so many people jammed into one building. Parking was horrible, but I managed to find a space. All I know the stuff I needed was NOT on sale. But I did pick up a wok for $9.99 so I was happy for that. I might add that the HOT CHICK factor was extremely high. And many of them were wearing clothes suitable for the hot weather. <---me looking at hot, babes. Luckily my wife was working today so I was able to enjoy the scenery.
Already went and got a lamp. I'm going back today to get a small cabinet to hold the DVD player and stuff for my new badass TV and a foot stool. Man, the hot chick factor was EXTREMELY high. Good grief. If you like their stuff, Eurway is having a sale this weekend also. I got a really nice chair and a lamp there yesterday.
The sale continues tomorrow. I suggest anyone who is bored and wants to see hot chicks in bunches go out to Ikea tomorrow and report back here with your findings.
I was there today also to help someone return something, I couldn't believe how crowded it was...and yup, was looking at the summer dressed hot chicks. Had a band playing also, thought it was some grand reopening or something. A place like Ikea is hot chick magnet, gotta have those contemporary pieces for the contemporary life.
My girlfriend just had a second interview with Ikea last week as an interior designer. She's from Sweden, knows the damn store inside and out, and has always wanted that position. We are hoping to hear back something this next week. She's now a newbie here on Clutch so everyone be good. Her moniker is Masters Flickvan.
Does IKEA offer people to put together their funiture for a price? I want to buy some night stands for my new place, but there's no way in hell I have the energy, time, or desire to put it together.
We went to it today, what a madhouse. I was about ready to go crazy just becuase there were so many damn people there. I was seriously having trouble breathing just because it was so packed. We did get a bookcase and some pictures, but that place was really insane. I couldnt imagine working there, I would lose it. Jeff - I live down the street from Eurway so went there for the first time today. I was actually really dissapointed, they didn't have much there. Also couldn't stand all of the sales guys standing up front just waiting to jump on every customer that walked in the door. I told my wife that place seemed like the Conn's of furniture stores.
I really don't know the answer to that but I think it's a Big Fat NO. And hey, I think it's fun to assemble furniture from IKEA.Oh wait...I take that back..it's fun to sit on my ass and watch someone else assemble the furniture. I'm just there to give a helping hand with the instructions.
The sales people were annoying and they don't have a huge selection, but I like that modern furniture style so I like a lot of what they have. Same with Ikea. Those are the only places that aren't ridiculously expensive that I can buy furniture. I can't afford places like Design Within Reach or other pricey modern furniture places, so those are my best options.
It's normally not as bad as it was today and probably Sunday. I think it was just because they were having their big "twice a year" sale. The only other time I remember it being this bad was the week of their grand re-opening.
Quite often I could use a helping hand with their instructions. They look simple, yet I often find them confusing. it must be a Swede thing.
I'm guessing there were some hot dudes as well, but I didn't notice. Man, we should have had a Clutch bbs get together. I've counted at least 4 of us there today!
I'm gonna go this afternoon to look for nightstands. I think I'll pay my little sister to put them together... she's always up for making extra cash. (NO DIRTY COMMENTS FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY!!!)
