http://www.hoopsworld.com/HeadlineStories.asp?lc=&c=1&TEAM_ID=&PLAYER_ID=&hd=20100812 and http://twitter.com/deepsixer3/status/20908019514 deepsixer3 (Kate Fagan): At USA camp, talking to Iguodala, who said about Philly, "I honestly want to be there my whole career." Not sure who this Kate Fagan guy is, but his twitter link and post was on hoopsworld.. no article or anything. I know its not Andres choice, but I dont see Philly trading him if he says he wants to retire there. No way Birds gonna let go of Granger after getting Collison and Posey and how excited he is about getting better. Posted in the GARM because of all the talks of Iggy recently before and even more after the Lee trade. Thoughts about this, or is his comment just meaningless?
Well it was his choice, and obviously he didnt want to.. That was LeBron, this is Iggy.. he doesnt have teams banging on his door for his decision, hes not as big time so if he says something like this, HES gotta mean it.. now its just a matter of if PHILLY, not him, care about that. Its a different situation.. but no, i dont think that if philly gets a situation in which they can get better by letting go of Iggy, theyre gonna let it go just because he said he wanted to retire there. So i do see what youre saying, but it was Lebrons choice, Iggy doesnt really have one, his fate lies in sixers FO.
don't read too much into what i said...the point was that things can change almost overnight. a ton of players say they want to do this and that with certain teams and it doesnt mean much other than the "ideal" situation, which doesnt always happen. He's not lebron, but hes also not steve novak...he'll have plenty of teams willing to trade for him for the right price and even some for the wrong one, and there's always the option of forcing a trade, which actually happens more often than we realize.
I think he is good, but not sure if I want him at that price tag. Let's see how the Battier/Budinger combo does first. Together, they cost little more than half of what Iguodala makes, and I think the combination of these two can make as much out of the minutes as Iguodala can, especially if Budinger continues to improve. Think about it, who would be the bigger difference maker, Chris Paul or Iguodala? I think Iguodala is a solid guy, but if you want to "go for it", you need to shoot for a Chris Paul caliber player. And he only makes a couple million or so more than Iguodala. I think we are in a great position already, and if/when things fall apart in New Orleans, we can offer them this (plus great picks and cash): Spoiler
Id take that in a second but theres no way NO traded away Collison unless they had some sort of commitment from cp3... I dont think hes going anywhere.
