it may be someone trying to get you... http://www.autothing.com/funthings/Tech Reviews/Cell Phone Jammer Review.htm I soooo want one of these...
hehe, that would be awesome to shut up that loud obnoxious and annoying a-holes who scream into their cells in public. I would so love this thing.
seriously, nothing pisses me off more than people who talk on their phone while trying to check out... freaking morons, its called common courtesy. how bout i come to your work and start picking my nose when your trying to talk to me.
You know, I can understand when people get pissed at those who talk on the phone while driving, but I have never been able to figure out why someone talking to another person on the phone while in line or sitting at a table in a restaurant pisses so many people off. Let me ask you this : if that person were talking to another person standing behind them as opposed to one on the phone, would you still be pissed? Would it still be a lack of common courtesy? I still don't get why talking on the phone is a lack of common courtesy. Now if they're holding up the line or something I understand... but otherwise, I don't get it.
^ it pissed me off whenever I was a retail clerk if someone was talking on their phone the whole time, too. if they're talking to the person behind them, it's not like they're completely distracted, that almost -never- happens.. they'll stop their conversation and give you their attention, or at least the proper amount of attention to not 1) interefere with your job or 2) make you feel like the lowest rung of the ladder of human evolution. adeel is right, it's common courtesy.. cell phones have really accelerated the "a**hole-ing" of society.
I dont make calls when I am in a check out line, but if I receive a call when I am in it I will pick it up and talk to whoever. I just hand them the merchandise and the credit card and let them do the work. There is nothing more I hate then dropped calls however. If I saw someone do that to me (especially if it was an important call or for work) and: a) I did not know them b) Did not weigh more than 200 lbs. I would take that crap and throw it across the room.
Becuase they usually talk REALLY LOUD. And since there is nobody talking back it's just weird. It's like a tv is on or something. I just like to eat in peace while I read or something. I hate loud restaurants anyway. Going to eat somewhere is usually a break for me. I going to get away from all that crap. It's just added noise when they could wait. I am paying money to eat there and I do not want to hear about there business deals etc. It's annoying as hell. I think there should be a law against cell phones in restaurants. I don't care as much about the morons using them grocery stores. If they cant pick out a loaf of bread without calling someone, then they will just be idiots forever and god help them. It's still annoying but not as much. Now the people I want to kill are the ones who use those ear peices and walk around looking like they are talking to thin air. Sometimes you think they are talking to you and you say "excuse me?" but they just walk off not wanting to be interrupted. You can't tell me that's just not screwing up society. Life was better before them.
A retail clerk is a service worker. I know, because I spent quite a few years in HS + college in that position. The clerk's job is to help customers make purchases. Plain and simple. Unless someone is assaulting you (verbally or physically) your feelings aren't part of the equation. It's never acceptable to be angry at someone for talking to someone besides you in the check-out line. Now, if they are holding up the check-out process as a result of the conversation, then it's up to the clerk to take some sort of action for the sake of the other waiting customers. Even in that case, emotions should not enter the picture.
I don't like cell phone drivers more than anyone else. However, in other places I just think you guys are looking for reasons to complain. Why does it bother you guys so much if someone is on the phone?
A lot of the newer restaraunts are installing cell phone inhibitors, basically they stop the signal from working inside their establishment. A good thing, if you ask me. DD
Hate away, but it is wrong to mistreat a customer as a result of a personal bias. If you own the company, that's a different story. I would argue that it's a questionable business decision in many cases, but that's an owner's prerogative. An employee, on the other hand, has a responsibility to the employer to act in accordance with his/her wishes. I doubt most retail outfits want to turn away business simply because a customer is annoying (they all are in one way or another).
It destroys any ambiance. A couple of years ago I took my lunch hour at a little sandwich shop. I was looking forward to a nice lunch with a little peace. There was some guy at was talking on his cell phone so loud at the table behind me it was unreal. It went on and on. I almost threw my sandwich in his face. I should have.
Only if their conversation is infringing on my table, ie being too loud. People do have a tendency to speak more loudly into their phones, and that bothers me...otherwise...no. DD
Blah Blah Blah. I have turned away a lot business becuase of annoying, crazy people. They aren't worth the trouble. Business doesn't rule my world.
In ten years, cell phones will probably be like cigarettes are today. The only place you'll be able to use them is in your house...
