    Ben Wallace
    PJ Brown
    New York's #1

    to Minnesota for
    Kevin Garnett

After Dec. 15th so Ben can be traded.

Basically Chicago trading away Wallace (who you know by now is a mistake) along with expiring salary and another shot at Greg Oden.

Minnesota on the other gets to change the team and finally move it in another direction.

Why would Minny accept that when the Bulls are probably ready, willing and able to deal:

    Gordon
    Nocioni or Tyrus Thomas
    PJ Brown
    and that 1st Rounder

for Garnett as been rumored for a while now. I'd assume they anchor their front line with Wallace and Garnett and have a rotation of Hinrich, Deng, Sefolosha, Duhon and either Nocioni or Thomas in the backcourt.

so would minnesota get a reach around also?

nobody's touching that ben wallace contract let alone for one of the game's best players. in this particular deal that ny draft pick means nothing.

The first deal is a joke. No one's ever going to take on Ben Wallace's contract. But the second one with Gordon and Tyrus Thomas makes more sense. Essentially, Minnesota would have their pick of Chicago's young talent (I guess outside of Kirk Hinrich) and PJ Brown would probably be thrown in to match salary along with the draft pick. Although, Minnesota might want another draft pick as well.

The question is does GARNETT want to do this trade?

He seems set on staying in Minnesota even through all the bull he's been through.

He's not winning a ring unless he leaves Minnesota, that's for sure.

if i was the twolves I'd be after that 1st rounder, Tyrus Thomas, Deng and Gordon in the order..... and of course PJ brown to help match the salaries........

the twolves really have nothing to build around except Foye...... they need to blow it up now and get themselves a top 3 pick in this years draft and then the bulls/knicks pick........

Hes the type of person to honor his contract to the bitter end, but dont for one second think hes not opting out after next year. Of course if Minny had any sort of managerial sense they would package him in the chicago deal.

Rumor has it that the Bulls would package Ben, Tyrus, PJ Brown, and either Deng or Nocioni to go with the pick. Thats one hell of deal, luckily the Bulls are so deep that they would still have enough pieces to make Chicago a contender. The could have a potential lineup of

    Duhon
    Hinrich/Thabo
    Deng or Nocioni
    KG/ Sweetney
    Ben Wallace

They would have some holes to fill but they would be one of the best teams if not the best in the East

No way. Why on Earth would Minnesota saddle themsleves with Ben's TERRIBLE contract if they are trying to rebuild?

Chicago would do the deal you proposed in a heart beat. They need to make a play for a guy like Garnett, Pierce or a star of that caliber since they're just a decent but not really good basketball team right now.

On the flip side, Minnesota would be nuts if they agreed. $16 million a year for a player that gives you like 1/4 of the production KG gives you simply isn't gonna get it done, especially out West. $8 million off the books from P.J. Brown's contract coming and the #1 pick of an improved NY team isn't enough in my estimation.

Steddinotayto has got the right idea but that deal you proposed doesn't include enough salary on Chicago's end to get it done. KG's contract is so huge it would almost have to be a 4/5-for-1 deal.

The price of Garnett if I'm Minnesota has to include Deng or Nocioni and either Thomas or a high lotto pick next year.

I think fans are over-reacting to the Chicago situation right now. Chicago needs to exactly one thing: wait. They have more talent top to bottom than any other team in the league. People say that they don't have a superstar, but they have 4 guys who can take over a game (Gordon, Deng, Nocioni, and Hinrich), and one in the making (Thomas). Sefalosha, Duhon, and even Wallace play their roles very well. If they win the Oden sweepstakes, it just gets sweeter. Outside of Wallace and PJ Brown, everyone is very young and therefore inconsistent. Give them a year or two, and they'll get more consistent.

Were I running the Bulls, I'd just suck up the salary hits, avoid the pressure to make a shortsighted move, and work on chemistry. When the chemistry and consistency comes, the Bulls will be very good. Until then, at least they're in the East. They've way underperformed their potential, and they're in 5th place.

Exactly. Chicago is fine the way they are. If they still don't get anything decent done at the end of the year then worry about making some moves. Plus, I have a feeling that KG will never win a championship as the leader of a team. His best chance is in LA with Kobe or with another superstar. He has to become the T-mac to his own Yao.

If he somehow found his way to Cleveland, that would be one sick team. You could pull shooters from the NBDL and that would still be a contending team.

I see what you're saying and although i've already suggested they make a play for KG, it may still be too early to tell. They're a .500 team with no quality wins. It will be interesting see how they fare against the elite clubs and if they start winning or not.

    Agree.

I would trade for KG our own JHo, Rafer, Hayes, JL3, Padgett and Novak.

We'll just look for some player from YMCA to complete our roster. :)
