Seems the Rockets rather decide to take the chance on Dampier choosing Houston over MIL than take the chance that Utah matches a $2 mil offer for Fesenko.

Tough spot they are put in, but guess you can't blame Dampier, it's his life.

It appears that Fesenko said no to Houston, not the other way around.

It seems he said "no" because Houston is still holding the offer open to Dampier first and he didn't want to miss training camp with Utah (which starts tomorrow).

I disagree. It sounds like Fesenko may be tired of waiting to hear Houston say, "We want you!"

Yes. Checked in. Sorry about missing the draft. Lunch with a friend whom I haven't met in years ran long. I'll just have to be opportunistic (like somebody that this board is familiar with).

I'm sure there will be plenty of injuries, upheavals and what not giving rise to opportunity to reshape the roster.

And yes, somehoe Bon Jovi + Dampier just seem funny. Not sure why. In fact almost any music + Dampier seem funny.

Maybe, but what's the downside for him to wait if he's indeed interested in playing for Houston? Its not like the Jazz would have retracted their 1 year offer for the minimum...

SMH at Fesenko chose to lose $2 mil rather than missing training camp. lol

Well, it's $2 mil he won't see if Dampier chooses Houston come, say, Tuesday. And he should definitely try not to miss camp and get on Sloan's **** list.

He didn't want to miss training camp. That's what the guy who said he worked with Fesenko said, he'd wait until Sunday for Houston's offer or just sign with the Jazz.

Without commenting on the credibility of the "inside source" I suspect that the so-called Houston offer that Stein reported Fesenko turned down was in fact never offered. I just doesn't make sense that a fringe player would turn down an offer for twice as long for twice the money.
