Just wondering who would the BBS bring in with the MLE. I think I'd have to go with Horry as our back up PF with ~2 mill. He currently has a player option for 1.3 or so for next year. I'd like to see him end his career where he started it and help us to the finals along the way. The other would be a PG. If we get Daniels in a S&T then possibly go after Saranus. He's a proven winner in Europe and would go a long way in solving our PG woes along with Daniels.

    Horry~2 mill
    Saranus~3 mill

I would try to sign Horry with the 1 million dollar exception. It's up to 1.7 million now, right? Did we use it last year? Then I'd try to sign Chris Anderson and a decent backup SF with the MLE. Try to get AD with a sign and trade.

    1mil exception

MLE to earl watson, jeff mcinnis, AD - i'm sure they would take it if we offered.

LLE to horry - may want to stay in SA. plan B would be to offer it to kukoc, songaila, rodney rogers, or malik allen.

if we draft a PF and want to spend the LLE on a sf/sg then here are some options: raja bell, lee nailon, dermarr johnson.

i would do the trade with memphis for bonzi. sura and wesley for bonzi is a fair deal on bonzi who has one year left and can be traded at the deadline if things don't work out.

    '05-'06 roster:

    yao-deke-spoon
    Jho-draft-padgett
    tmac-dermarr (ex knick)-bowen
    bonzi-JB-ward
    AD-james-moochie

Reports coming out have been kind to Jason Williams(x-bull). They say his speed and shot are both above average.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get the LLE.

Steve Blake wouldn't be a bad option either since he's a TRUE pg and will surely have limited minutes behind Arenas and Dixon. I see him as a poor man's K. Hinrich.

I think Mobley is the perfect fit. He is good at defense, shoots the three, can create his own shot and is fast. He is everything we are looking for except tall. I can definitely live with his height with all the other qualities he shows.

I'd rather give Julius Hodge a chance than watch Mobley lay on the floor after missing an ill advised shot, again.

Hmmmm an established NBA player that happens to be an excellent defender, a marksman from the 3 pt line and has Houston ties.....

    OR---

A lanky, unproven 2nd round talent.

    Decisions, decisions.

I really hope money doesn't stop us from getting Mobley. It seems like he wants to be here and again, he is a good fit. He knows the system and knows JVG so if he wants to be here that is a good thing.

I'd like to see some footage of Mobley in his only year in the JVG system. He played 40 minutes a game, shot 43 percent(39 from three point land) had 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists(highest of his career), 2.3 turnovers :( , 1.3 steals, 0.4 blocks, 2.2 PF and 15.8 ppg.

The numbers tell me that he was buying into JVG's system when I compare them to other years of his career. I think his turnovers might come down a bit and his points go up some with our faster paced offense. Having a point guard with a little more disicpline than Steve would probably mean that Mobley was getting the ball in better spots and therefore would turn the ball over less. His defensive rebounding numbers that season were the best defensive rebounding numbers of his career. The assists being at 3.2 tells me that he was playing more team ball that year(highest assists per game average for his career).

I think he's a good fit with JVG's style and if he'll run following a turnover, then I really think he's the guy for us. I'd love to see his passion on Houston's hardwood again. He can play 40 minutes a game and isn't injury proned so we wouldn't need a heavily contributing backup for him. He can play the point and small forward so the flexibility he gives the roster is of value too. He's worth trying to get in my opinion. He just makes too much sense to pass up.

Speed, rebounding, assists, defense, 3pt accuracy and he has done this stuff for JVG before!
