Have 4 players per team instead of 5? Can dribble with your feet like soccer? Have a 4 point line like at half court? Dunk counts for 2.5 points rather than 2? Penalty shoutout (temporary 1 on 1 possessions) after a tie?

    What would you do?

Half-court shot counts as 4 points. End game situations would be interesting.

No balls. What movie am I thinking of where they play basketball with an imaginary ball?

No time outs or video reviews in the last 2 minutes. Game endings are way too long!

If there is one thing about the modern day NBA that leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, it is FLOPPING. I would take a few harsh but very fair measures to get rid of it from the game:

Death penalty for convicted floppers and life without parole for refs that overlook flops.

Derek Fisher sentenced to death in the state of Utah, by default, to drive the point across.

The exact first thing I thought of...getting rid of flopping.

    repped.

A dunk should be worth 3 points. That should place an emphasis on defending the paint, but their would be a lot more posterizations too. Only problem I see is their would be a lot more flagrant fouls.

I would make the court slightly wider and longer.

    Allow hand checking.

And allow for more contact in the paint than out.

Yeah, harsher flopping penalties. League changes would be: lottery from 1-14 instead of just 1-3 with equal chances for every team out of the playoffs and a hard cap.

Limit each team to 1 or 2 real timeouts the last 2 mins. Others could be used solely to advance the ball to mid-court after a made shot.

Penalize flopping enough to discourage it, up to the point of suspensions for repeat offenders.

Eliminate the charging call when the defender steps in front AFTER the offensive player dishes the ball.

Penalize intentional fouling enough to discourage it.

Strictly enforce the 10-second rule for FTs by using a visible timer.

    The ILLEGAL crossover....

I don't know why it isn't enforced, but the NBA allows some of its best handlers to carry the damn ball to the point that their crossover is simply traveling.

If it's for the fans, it's no longer working. The crossover used to be the big thing with Francis and Iverson, and watching old clips, it even looks like Stevie abused the rule quite often.

I know the refs call "palming" once in awhile, but it happens way too often.

Do you know how awful this would be?

Playoffs berths and championship-deciding games would be flawed...

    No.
