I don't necessarily mean the best players...but also just your favorite players (only those currently playing). This is less about thinking about the future (like picking a younger PG over an older one), just putting a team of your 12 favorite NBA players (2 per position plus 2 extra) together...

Let's say all the NBA teams were re-shuffled, there was a draft, and you had the first 12 picks for the Houston Rockets...how would your team look?

    Here goes mine:

    PG: Nash, Cassell, Francis
    SG: T-Mac, Allen, Mobley
    SF: Kirilenko, Boki
    PF: Dirk, Bo Outlaw
    C: Yao Ming, Shawn Bradley

    Nash, Lebron, AK47, Amare, Yao...with T-mac as the 6th man...this is a sick lineup.

I like their characters as well as their basketball skills. I think they will have great fun playing together.

Your pretty much asking me to list my favorite players by position.

    so that would be.

    PG - TParker / SFrancis
    SG - TMac / VCarter
    SF - Lebron / AK47
    PF - TDuncan / KG
    C - Yao / Shaq

but I were to build a team of pieces that fit together and would win.

    PG - JKidd / ET
    SG - Kobe / RAllen
    SF - Peja / Lebron
    PF - TDuncan / KG
    C - Shaq / Dirk

    Duncan /Miller
    Garnett /Ben Wallace
    AK47 /Odom/Marion
    Lebron /Mobley/Joe Johnson
    Arroyo /Hinrich

I'm more a fan of versatility than I am of players that need 20 shots a game to be successful; I'm also very anti-prima donnas. I fully believe that's been the central problem with the Team USA rosters.

Odom, Lebron, and KG can all play at least 3 positions and are as much playmakers as they are scorers.

I threw in Joe Johnson since he's been the deadliest 3 point assassin so far this year (IMHO).
