Robert Gallery is the man I'd want....how nice would it be to give Carr all the time in the world to make a decision, esp. w/ the weapons we have on offense........

Dude thats a no brainer. Sean Taylor would be the best choice. Gallery is a great player but our O-Line is decent. We need one more wideout to take some pressure off of Andre and we need secondary help and OLB help.

I think we've signed enough O-line help now. Last year it was our defense that was our greatest weakness, not our protection of the quarterback. I'm gonna go with Taylor because our D needs some help.

    Gallery LT
    Pitts LG
    Mckinney C
    Weigert RG
    Wade RT

Looks good to me and there looks to be some good players at other positions we could grab later on and the dropoff is at say DT or S is not as great as it would be at tackle.

Larry may not even be the best wideout in the draft. But we know Sean Taylor is the best secondary player maybe defensive player in the draft. No Contest.

I can't believe people would take a freaking safety over a rock solid, pro-bowl type LT. A guy like Gallery would have a HELL of a lot more impact on the Texans season this year and down the line than a guy like Taylor ever could. I kind of thought this was a no brainer. I take Gallery without a second thought.

What about the beast underclassmen Shawn Andrews where is he. I think he is a great player and could fall to us at 10 and surely would be a steal.

Taylor is the best player in the draft. Gallery couldn't make that much of a difference since our O-Line is pretty solid right now but our FS, and SS suck. Once the season is over with all the Sean Taylor doubters will be eating crow.

with stevens being waived our safeties actually became better.......mcree and brown aren't pro-bowlers by any means, but they're still solid. Havin Gallery would open up lanes for Davis and w/ his quickness he can take full advantage.....it will also give Carr plenty of time to make decisions w/ the ball. Plus it may add a couple years to his playing career......he deserves after what he went through in his first season......

Andrews could slip out of the top 20, he cannot keep his weight under control and he is a mediocre pass blocker. He's scheduled for a workout on 3/24. We'll know more then.

    Gamble all the way.

Defense is important, and our O-Line has been bolstered in FA.

I think Fitz and Taylor are overrated/busts.

If the Texans take Chris Gamble and Sean Taylor was still on the board; they will regret that for a long, long time.

I don't think there's a chance that Sean Taylor is on the board at 10.

MadMax- Gamble is a safe pick? Everything I've heard, he's a "tools" type of cornerback- not completely polished, but prototype size/athletic ability. Isn't he the one who's only played cornerback a couple years?

Gotta agree with NIKEstrad regarding Gamble.

Everything I've read places DeAngelo Hall as the closest thing to a sure thing at cb this year. He turned in some insane times at his latest workout, 3.68 short shuttle, a 6.39 three-cone drill he didn't run the 40 choosing to stand on his previous combine time of 4.3.

Gamble's got better size but that's it, the tools and intangibles all belong to Hall.

Oh I completely agree. I will be shocked if Taylor is still on the board after the 6th pick.

Gamble was a dual player, playing WR and CB. For some reason, I thought he was a project CB and a more natural WR, but I may have that reversed.

There is no question he has the tools, but I do think he needs polishing.

Ditto. Pro-Bowl LT are impossible to get during free agency because they're always franchised, this goes to show you how important they are. Gallery would instantly make the Texan's offensive lines one of the best in football. A great OLine can take mediocre skill players a long way (see Carolina), imagine what it would do with Carr, AJ, and DD.

you guys probably know better than i do...but i was under the impression that Gamble was a pretty safe pick for the Texans...that he had done enough to establish himself as a legit corner for the NFL...and that the Texans could pick him without having to trade away other draft picks.
