If Yao wasn't Chinese, would the Rockets still make him so untouchable?

?

Whats the best race for Yao to be in so there would be highest chance of trading him?

Yao is Chinese. He is not to be traded.

However what if he was Black? What if he was White? What if he was Hispanic?

There's quite a large group of people on this board who believe that the only reason the Rockets are keeping Yao is because of his business benefits. It's something I don't get. So I want to get some clarification here.

Let us suppose Yao was a black or white American. Everything else stays the same. When would've Yao been traded or released? For reference, Yao got an extension 3 years into his deal. One that guaranteed him $12-18 mil per season until this year. This money would be given to him even if the Rockets cut him.

I'm curious to what realistic moves involving Yao we could've made that would have made us a better team today.

    In other words,

ALREADY POSTED THREAD IS ALREADY POSTED.

But he wouldnt have generated as much profit. So he is much more moveable as he would just be like any other player in the NBA.

Yao might not have a market at all.
Rockets cannot trade Yao to nowhere.

We real Rocket Fans don't care about how much money his making for Les, we care about wins and championships.
