I was so thrilled as a Rocket fan when the Rockets beat the Lakers on a Sunday afternoon for their 22nd win. Then I was saddened when Boston defeated them. Oh what'd I do to go back in time and prevent Yao from getting hurt and pitting them against the Celtics in the Finals. I even get opinions from non-Rocket fans that they would have destroyed the Celtics in the Finals. Luis Scola is our leading scorer right now (I think), and he was on that team. Rafer Alston was the 3rd leading scorer? lol Yao and T-Mac both averaged 21.5 points per game and they still had the defensive mentality left behind by Jeff Van Gundy's staff, and not to mention combined with Rick Adelman's offense. To this day, I'm thinking Boston's holding our city's 3rd trophy.
T-Mac was still a closer at that time. And Yao was the Yao that we referred to as the Old Yao before his season-ending surgery.
We've seen too much old TMAC and old Yao. Both are not the player in the 4th quarter. We might have bigger hope with Landry and AB instead of those two.
What if Rick Adelman played Jordan Hill more often, Gary Kubiak actually ran the ball 30-35 times a game and Uncle D hadn't let our farm system go to crap.....we might not have much to talk about.
