If Yao and RA couldnt figure the fronting defense out......

If Yao keeps getting fronted, and the rest of the Rox can not get him the ball for the next games. in the meanwhile, by any chance(0.0000000001%), we lose next game or next two games, making Rox on the edge of getting eliminated again.

Could the following strategy work?

1. just forget about posting Yao up down low. use him as a role player, mainly for defensive presense and offensive rebounding. Ask him to save the energy for defense.

2. Put scola/AB combo as our first priority. Scola can post up, or they do PnR.

3. Play team basketball, drive to basket. play wafer more. he can drive, and if draws double team, pass to the spot-up shooters like Artest or Battier.

4. when ppl drive and draw double team, they can even pass to Yao for a mid range jump. he can do that.

So basicly try to use Yao like Okur, just Yao is even better defensively.

that's what i think, if Yao cannot figure out the fronting and shoot 6 shots a game, why dont just shift the offensive load off him? let him defense and grab the boards.

I know playoff is not a good time for experiment and drastic change.

But i'd rather see ppl use a different strategy than waste 16 seconds looking for Yao in every possession and shoot a rush shot.
