we should talk w/ the Kings to a S&T deal to get Webber here. we'll then be able to re-sign all of our FAs: Hakeem($5M/yr, he won't get more than that elsewhere) Taylor($6M/yr, starts w/ $4M in the 1st year) Anderson(early bird or a little more) Moochi($1.2M cap exp.) Bullard($1M vet. Min) we can even sign Marc Jackson if he's willing to play here for about $4M in the 1st year.

    plan 1:
in the past season, Vancouver offered SAR for Cato+Williams+3 1st Rd. picks. and now they need our #18 pick badly(otherwise they'll have to give their own pick to Det. next year) so I'm assuming the deal will still work out for them. here's a 3-way deal that will make sense:
Van. gets Cato+Williams+#18 pick+2 future 1st Rounders from Houston
Sac. gets SAR + K. Thomas
    Hou. get Webber

    line-up could be:
    Dream, #22 pick, Collier
    Webber, Taylor,
    #13 pick, Bullard, Lanchi
    Anderson, Mobley
    Francis, Norris

    #13= J. Johnson, P. Gasol, R. White, R. Jefferson, or G. Wallace.
    #22= B. Haywood, K. Johnson, A. Jones, J. Collins, or S. Dalembert

    plan 2:
    trade Mobly($4,4M)+KT($0.94M)+Cato($6M) for Webber($12M)

    line-up could be:
    Dream, #22 pick, Collier
    Webber, Taylor, Bullard
    #13 pick, Williams, Langhi
    Anderson, #18
    Francis, Norris

    #13&#22= same as above
    #18= J. Forte, T. Hassell, or G. Arenas

I think these are the only ways we can get Webber and still keep all of our FAs.

Huh? Every rumor involving SAR, also included the other team taking Big Country. The Rockets would have jumped at the chance to do the deal you mentioned.

No way should the Grizz have 2 top big men in CaTOFU and BigC. Their front line would be super! [IMG]

    Rocketability -
    I agree - super expensive!

    Hard Rock -
I think Cuttino is untouchable for trading purposes.

Not according to a source here. I'll let him identify himself if he wants.

    aelliott-
I saw the rumor in a Clutch's post several months ago. Clutch said that it was the Grizz offering SAR and Rudy turned down the deal.

    GATER-
    1.) that's why I prefer my "PLAN 1"
2.) I don't think Cuttino is "untouchable" if we can A.)get Webber in return B.)keep all of our FAs C.)get rid of Cato's contract D.)find a replacement in a very deep draft(J. Forte, T. Hassell, or G. Arenas)
    what do you think?

    Rocketman95-
I don't know if Clutch remember this rumor, but I'm sure he did mentioned this rumor in his post! I even remember someone created a photo that has SAR in a Rockets' uniform.

Yeah, I'm sure it's not a secret anymore. That's what Clutch posted anyway.

I seriously doubt Rudy turned down that deal. I think the deal fell through because Cato was stuck on the IR for a bruise or something.

"Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.

    maybe

but don't worry, let's tell the Grizz that Cato promised to "...lead the league in rebounds" they'll still love him [IMG]

I think it was Cato and 5 first round picks for Reef, and many (not me) thought that was too much to give up.
